I have been experiencing a fast idle after a ride of 40 min or more. When I stop at a light or such I put my Uly in neutral and my RPM's go up to 2k. If I pull in my clutch it usually drop to normal idle but not always. I do not know if it connected to the same issue but the neutral light stops working when it is hot as well. What am I missing?? I can only comment from the extensive reading/research I've done but am no expert. The Nuetral sounds like an electrical problem as wires soften and expand when hot, so it's more likely a compromised wire that shows its symptoms when everything warms up. As far as high idle, it's either a leaking intake or problems with the ECM. It might leak significantly more when hot due to expansion and softness of seals, thus you notice it only then. |

I havent looked at my new (to me) manuals yet.... The 08's have an electronic idle control, right? (The 2007's and earlier just have a screw.) |

2008 bike have that servo motor that controls the idle intake air. Yours may be sticky. Mine was but it didn't do anything really as a result. It's pretty easy to take it out and clean it with gumout or whatever if you pop off the airbox floor. |

Yes 08+ have idle control adjustments electronically (ECM). 07 and before it was a screw adjustment. (Message edited by LJIvasiv82 on July 15, 2016) |
