Are they worth it or are there any advantages? And if so any one have a parts list of the fittings needed to complete the job? |

In a system like ours, with very low pressure, the braid only provides protection from friction damage, such as the hoses that rub against one another under the engine of a tuber. They also will provide some protection from the heat of the exhaust. This is useful, but not as useful as holding the shape of the hose under high pressure hydraulic or pneumatic use. Thus, the special fittings which make up most of the expense of proper braided lines are not really needed for motorcycle use. JP cycles sells a kit with cut-to-length hose(use tin-snips) and decorative covers for the included regular screw-type hose clamps for about a hundred bucks. |

I you want good stainless steel oil lines look at Goodrich. Years ago I had them make a complete set for the S2 and I fit perfectly and still holding strong. The OD of the line is much smaller then using stainless steel covered rubber lines. |

Kinda cool that Buell was the first motorcycle company to get approval from the feds to use braided line on a motorcycle. Others had tried . . . but the "whip test" stopped them all in their tracks . . until Buell did it in 1990. I've been quite pleased with my braided clutch cable. The stock ones all seemed to leak primary lube from the juncture of the sheath and the fitting - I had three fail. It's plastic coated so it won't scrub the finish off my left fork. Barely long enough for high bars. lower.http://www.ebay.com/itm/231351804486?_trksid=p2060 353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |

The fitting companies also make a fitting that has a hose clamp in it designed to slide over the braided hose its cheaper and simpler |

I was looking at those. They seem like they would provide a good look. Project on hold a little as carb rebuild just became a need. Float bowl is stuck.... |
