2009 XB12SCG EBR Race ECM and Jardine Exhaust Just wondering how the race ecm is suppose to act compared to the stock ecm. with the race ecm when I initially start the bike it revs up to about 1500rpm for a couple minutes and settles out at around 1000 also with the race ecm my fan seems to come on when riding above 30km/h and shuts off as I come to complete stop and the other thing I have noticed is that the fan doesn't seem to come when the bike is shut off compared to the stock one which will run the fan for a few seconds after bike shutdowns. just wondering if all of this is normal? |

That is all normal. The fan operation is how the 2010 bikes came from the factory, the EBR ECM uses the same logic. This was due to complaints about the fan running, so they changed the operation to come on once moving. The fan will still come on while stopped if it is hot enough, so you don't need to worry about traffic. Same for the idle, it helps it get up to temperature faster. |
