What are cool kids getting for tubers these days? I have been using Dunlop sport touring tires and have had pretty good luck with them. |

I've been wondering the same myself. My M2 had Dunlop Q2s when I got it and stayed with the same when I replaced the front but hitting that 5 yr mark. Read good things about the Q3s but thought maybe I would look for something rated for higher mileage. Then again, they may dry rot before I wear them out so difficult to buy anything real expensive. I was leaning towards the Dunlop Roadsmart. Thoughts? |

I just put metzler sporttec m3. My shop recommend them. I am a very mild rider for what that's worth. |

Pilot Road 3 (triple compound rear, double compound front). Supposed to be very high mileage tires. I haven't had them long enough to prove it. I've been using Pilot Road 2 CT, several sets and have been very satisfied. The only complaint is they are a little slow to come up to temp. But great traction wet or dry. FWIW, I wrote Michelin tech support when I was having trouble finding a 170 rear in the Pilot Road 2. They say the Pilot Power 2CT would the same mileage AND wet weather traction but give better dry traction. They recommended that as the best street tire for my M2 with high mileage and good wet weather performance being my main concerns. NOTE that there are Pilot Power tires that are not the dual compound (2CT) and ones that are. Usually a tire source has one or the other but not both so you have to look around. I have not tried them yet as I found a good price on the Pilot Road 3 which I have been very pleased with. I think they are slightly better than the Road 2 so far. |
