09XB12XT The Actuator is not cycling open close open at key on. I can get it to cycle by taking the white wire to ground. No code is showing. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this? |

After searching the archives, I came across a post that said you can toggle the cut off switch 3 times and the actuator should cycle. It did. I thought this happened every time you switched on the bike? Still getting a little chuffing on decel/throttle off. Don't remember that before. |

I'm not sure what you found, but here's the correct test procedure: 1. Take airbox cover off. 2. Flip the kill switch to "off". 3. Turn the ignition switch to the "run" position. Do NOT crank the bike. 4. Rotate the throttle grip to the wide-open position and hold it. 5. While watching the actuator, flip the kill switch to "on". The actuator should cycle fully open, pause, and then fully shut. If the actuator doesn't move, or the action is jerky, or it doesn't open fully, the gears are stripped and you need a new actuator. |

I have the 06 Uly. The actuator on my bike now is a three year old replacement that stopped working. Warning light on also. I did the test and no movement. I took it apart expecting to see the same damaged gear as before but all looked fine. I turned the electric motor and everything seemed OK. I put it back together and tried it on the bike and now it works fine. |

I have had more success repairing electrical devices by taking them apart and jiggling them than by any other method. |

I find that some percussive maintenance seems to fix many electrical issues on these bikes. |
