I missed this thread while I was on vacation, but now that I'm playing catch-up I can help a little... I know that they were used on one special developmental RSS that we - or maybe it was just me - referred to as "Screamin' Yellow Peril". It had - at least initially - a 'hopped-up engine' by some well-known (but I've long forgotten) engine builder. Build pictures I took show it was originally built with the 5 spoke wheels as shown below.
I know at some point later in it's life it had some other wheels that may have foreshadowed the future some...
I believe this is what might have actually become of Screamin' Yellow Peril:
Yes, these (and plenty more) are pics from the cutting room floor from the Buell book when the chapter on 'Special Buells' was cut from the publication. I wonder if anyone will notice this since I came so late to the party? 1313 |

>>>>Yes, these (and plenty more) are pics from the cutting room floor from the Buell book when the chapter on 'Special Buells' was cut from the publication. Along with some amazing information and photos of the Buell guitars and some other amazing stuff. Books are funny . . .they kind of come in "chunks" depending on the number of large sheets that get folded to make 4 pages. So things tend to work in multiples . . . i.e. . . you don't go from 96 pages to 100 . . the next "up" multiple may be 148 or something. I still have the original handwritten manuscripts and the first galleys sealed in a box along with a case of unsold books. I'm sure there will come a time when several us us conspire to let some more cats from the bag . . . I'm betting . . . before then. . . you may see an interesting novel, no kidding a novel, loosely based on a motorcycle racer. Call it intuition . . . . |

As I sit here having my traditional birthday meal (over 2 months late...), I seem to recall having an internal document that specifies what equipment was planned for the RSS... Some of the specified equipment actually made it on them, 1313 |
