I just removed my rear brake rotor. Is it supposed to lay flat like all other motorcycle rotors? If I lay it on a flat surface, it is bowed out. It does not lay flush and flat. Is it warped? It appears to be bowed equally around the rotor but does not lay flat against a flat surface. |

It's shouldn't be shaped like a dish. Sounds like someone drove 400 miles with the toe on the pedal. |

Nate, It is shaped like a dish. Maybe that someone was me. I ordered a replacement one and will scrap this one. Thanks, Rich |

That's weird; I would probably replace the brake pads too. |

With the brake and rotor assembled, make sure your caliper is loose on the pins. I mean loose, like grab it (cold) and rock it, if it doesn't rock back and forth the pins might need cleaning and greasing and/or the piston might be stuck. (Message edited by xbimmer on May 22, 2016) |

I received my new rear rotor and the old was definitely warped. Cupped just like a dinner plate. New one perfectly flat. Rear brake as good as new. Now I need to make sure my size 14 boot doesn't inadvertently rest on the brake pedal. Thanks for everyone's help. |
