I had the L bracket rewelded a while ago. It holds the header to the frame at the upside down wishbone bracket at the front of the bike. Need a new bolt and nut and one of the rubber disks. Where can I order these or what size is the bolt and nut I should be looking for? What is the original nut called with the slits? I've never seen it at a hardware store. |

I guess I will just try to find a better nut and bolt from a hardware store or Home Depot. The rubber disk not sure will have to make one out of something maybe the auto parts store will have something. Wish I had the actual bolt size. The one on it is undersize at the moment. |

Now is the perfect time to upgrade that mount to the new "Y" version, it carries the load better! |

Yeah, just get the newer type of mount. Those rubber dinguses will be impossible to find. |

Buzzes at low speed because the lip of the rubber is missing on one side. I was thinking of making a rubber washer as a quick fix. My rubber piece will slide out of the Y because the lip is gone. I'm still looking for a solution. Auto store didn't have any rubber pieces. Home Depot had some but I don't think they were heat resistant. Will the new Y design work with the race header?? I have not seen it installed. Don't sure how it installs. I see the pic above but noting is installed. Doesn't look like there is a place for the voltage regulator that is bolted to the original Y piece. (Message edited by X1bully on May 23, 2016) |

The Y mount can also be bought or ordered from your local Buell/Harley shop or get a hold of Lance at St. Paul HD. For some reason, the Ebay sellers think they must be gold plated or something. I was seeing mounts that were used and screwed up "selling" for the same price as a brand new one. My local shop easily got me a new one in a few days. |

Thanks for the pics, info, and instructions. Now that I see it mounted on the X1 with race header I'll try a dealer to get the voltage reg bracket and all the parts. Hope the HD dealer can get them. The HD dealer I used to live by got me parts. I called one near me now once and they said they don't work on buells. And to call one about an hour away. So I got my parts rewelded. The rubber piece and hair line crack now on my header L bracket was from a undersize bolt that got loose. (Message edited by X1bully on May 23, 2016) |
