What's up guys. New here to the forum. I just picked up a 2006 xb12s with 18000 miles on Monday. Put 200 miles on it Monday and Tuesday. Ran fine. Tuesday night coming home from work by CEL light came on, no flashing, just looked down and the light was on. No other problems though. Runs fine, no weird noises or anything. Checked this morning and light was still on. I don't have a code reader to see the what code it is. Anybody got any info or ideas on what could be making the light come on. |

You will need to read the code to see what is up, but the most likely culprit is failure of the actuator for the valve in the muffler. Here are instructions on how to read the code, and a list of the codes - http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?142838/722928 |

Just checked the code by shorting out 1st and 2ND pin. Gave me 7 flashes. Then 3. Fuel pressure sensor voltage too high. Wasn't under the xb codes on the chart you told me. Took it to my father's friend shop to use a code reader and couldn't pull any codes. After three attempts I left. Got the bike up to 6500rpms CEL cut off. Dropped down to 3000rpms light came back on. Went up to 7000rpms light cut off and was off the whole way home. |
