I hate when people post really large pictures. This causes the text to get really small and you have to zoom in and scroll just to read it. Just make you pictures 480x480 and be done with it. I'm not even sure how they do it because they are skirting around the predefined size limits. \<rant> |

I did not mean to post that as anonymous. That was me and I stand by my rant! |

Thanks for your suggestions and observations. Ben (Milfacts), One of Buell's vintage ad campaigns was entitled "different in every sense." Seizures are different I guess. We've employed different fonts and sizes on the main forum index to facilitate topic recognition. Once inside a thread, it's mostly all the same, unless a contributor changes the fonts in his/her post(s). Jim, I share your frustration concerning super huge images wrecking page readability. But I do enjoy some of the photos too. My solution is to cut and paste the entire page into a text only screen, like notepad for instance. Ideally we'll get some funding to have the forum upgraded to where it will downsize images as desired, while maintaining a link to the original size image. |

I try and resize for 1024x768. Keeps the right aspect ratio, and won't cause the screen to blow out to the scroll bars on most monitors. The really big pictures come when somebody does an imagelink instead of a picture upload. Those aren't size limited (bytes), so thy are more likely to be too wide, especially if it is the raw output from the camera. |

If someone posts a hotlinked photo (using the imagelink or [IMG] command) that is hosted on Photobucket, Imgur, or similar 3rd party site, it will get around the size restrictions. As long as people don't abuse at and post ridiculously huge pictures, I leave them as is, but sometimes I'll edit a post to fix it should it be needed. Everyone uses different devices to get online these days, everything from 4" phones to 70" TVs, plain boring desktops to convertible laptops, tablets, and holographic projectors. What looks great on one thing might not look great on others, I know from experience that Android browser and iOS Safari seem to do a terrible job with keeping the formatting on Badweb correct once pictures on introduced. That seems to include the ones that are within our size restrictions, they will render correctly on my desktops, windows tablets, and windows phones but then on my Android tablet and iPad they get all screwey. |

I would like a section up for Badwebbers who have passed. Something we can quickly see does not even have to allow posts just their name and story and a date. There has been some great people on here that have left us. I missed that Buellistic passed because I did not catch it on the quick board I have been to busy for my own good! |

Help Mods! I am locked out of my normal account (jim2). I sent two request for help through a contact administrators link but have heard nothing so I created this new account in hopes I can contact someone who can help. I was just trying to change my primary email to a new Gmail account I prefer to use. Before I completed typing my Gmail address I fat fingered the keyboard and so now my jim2 account is not linked to a valid email and I can't log into it. I prefer to keep my jim2 account if possible. Thanks, JiM2 |

That is something I've been meaning to do for a while, I got a dump of his PDFs years ago (I think from Frank Skinner), and I need to organize and post them here somehow. |

I'll let you know depending on how I go about it. I recently fixed my personal website, so my old hot linked images and PDFs should work again. I haven't even looked at how Lafayette's files are even done, I may be able to just upload them to my site and link here, and possibly just embed them in a post or two as a backup. |
