I was thinking of doing another run of Stenzel bars. Just trying to see if their is any interest. Price point should be around $85 shipped in conus. Overseas can be done for additional. I am looking for around 10-15 units to keep the cost down. I will do either front iso mount but I would recommend replacing the front isolator if you haven't done so.
This is the last batch. I do have 5 "stenzels", give or take for the old style mounts. Those are ready to be shipped out immediately. I have talked to the machinist and he is willing to do a small run again. Said it should be a 2-4 week turn around. |

I'm interested in one. Currently, I still have the old mount. I had considered replacing it over the winter, but hell if I could dig up any proper info about it in the KV. Until seeing that pic above, I didn't even know if I had the "new" or old "mount". I know know I definitely still have the old mount. Does anyone have a link saved for info about how/why it should be replaced? |

The stenzels brace ties the upper motor mount and mid tie link together. The stenzels are designed to help load on the front mount area and to try and eliminate torsional load by tying the front mount and upper rear tie link together. Their for eliminating the rocking forward and backward of the motor. Re-distribution of the stress risers out of the front mount area and in theory saving the breakage of mount components. Would this allow more vibration? |

I have it on three of my tubers, M2, S1W, and a X1. The vibrations on the S1W and M2 are less at lower RPM cruise speeds. I haven't ridden the X1 yet, it's still on the table. |

Yes, new style for me. No sense in bracing up an outdated mount. Have all of you guys upgraded to the newer front isolator? I'm assuming mine is still the original. It looks fine, but I'll get it out of there ASAP if its in my best interest. From what I'm reading, that is either the 16207-79D or a L0501.T, or L0501.2?? Hell if I know. When I do a search, there is so much opinion and zero facts. Most of the discussions are also 6+ years old with no definitive answer of what we should be using. Can someone steer me in the correct direction? |

Red93stang - 1 new style Oopezoo - 1 new style Mikey -1 new style Hootowl - 2 new style Jolly - 2? new style I'm not sure for the reasoning behind the new style mount. It went to a 7/16th bolt and the mount itself seems stiffer/rigid/robust. They were having problem with the aluminum mounts breaking, torn isolators and the front FS9 bolts breaking in the head. The mount I used for my X1 was L1501.8 or L1501.TA Kit fits all tube framed Buell's. Edit from what I have been reading the L1501.8 does not come with the snubber washer needed. When I get home I will look and see for sure which kit I used on the X1. (Message edited by red93stang on May 04, 2016) |

"from what I have been reading the L1501.8 does not come with the snubber washer needed." It's just a fender washer...fifteen cents at home depot and you're down the road. |

"I'm not sure for the reasoning behind the new style mount" It has a big built in washer that transmits the load into the top of the rubber, rather than pulling at it from the inside. |

That makes sense thanks Hoot! The kit I ordered came with the washer and some guys say with this "stenzel" they need a 1/2" longer bolt. I did not when I bolted mine up. |

I have one of these on my X1.... havnt ridden without it in a while but it did NOT increase vibes... want to say it reduced them. I did have to get a longer bolt Jeff, but i am using the older style modded for the newer mount and a billet engine mount, so maybe thats why? im happy with it, nice design, nice quality. Fit great. I can even remove my front rocker box cover without fully removing it. Just remove the rear bolt and it can be swung out of the way just enough to fully remove the rocker cover. I would like to get one for my 2001 X1. I am not sure which version of the isolator I have, but it looks like I may have the older version. Can someone tell me from the picture below. Is it recommended to upgrade to the newer isolator version due to being better performance or the older style being obsolete? If so, I would prefer the newer style then and will replace the old version. Thanks for any help, Jason edit: My apologize for the gigantic picture...I cannot figure out how to replace it to a smaller version after I initially posted it.

Is the newer version isolator that much better than the older version? Is the older version becoming obsolete in regards to parts? I am asking because if the newer isolator isn't that much better or the older isolator will still be available in the future, I may was well go with the older style Stenzel bar to save money since I have the older isolator and mine looks fine. Thanks for any input. -Jason |

I believe the older style is already obsolete. So you can figure it out from there. |
