Morning all,
new to the Buell, just bought a S2 thunderbolt, and have been sorting through repairs, cleaning and general maint. First: great site, it has been a wealth of information and resources (the side stand "bend" is a huge improvement).

Can anyone tell me ( or photograph ) the way the rear caliper bracket sits in the swing arm? Mine has the stop bolt sitting on top of the swing arm , so it stops forward motion fine, but is free to rotate backwards. There is a notch on the inside of the arm, but I can't see a way to get the bolt into it without removing the wheel. What is the correct fit?

thanks
Derrick

The ALLEN bolt goes into the slot in the swing arm. You'll need to remove your wheel to install it correctly.

thanks Lance, wanted to be sure before I pulled the wheel. While I'm there I might do the wheel bearing too.

Suprisingly I have seen this many times???? Do people really think that would be a working design from the factory?

it definitely didn't seem right, I just couldn't find a diagram or image that showed how the allen fit into the swing arm, seemed like there should be a bushing.Thought I might have a missing piece or a poor mod by a previous owner.
Judging by the paint worn off the top of the swing arm it has probably been run this way for a while.
