Where could I buy a battery for my Uly other than the HD dealer? Thanks for the help. |

I know you don't want to hear this but we see the HD battery outlast almost all the other batteries out there. We have tried other batteries but they don't last. |

You should be able to get the right battery at any good auto parts store. I got my replacement battery at O'Reilly. It was about a $100. |

In the past I've had nothing but good to say about Harley batteries, but my last batch barley lasted a year. This time I went and got a pair of Duracells from Batteries Plus, the fit is a little off (I don't like the terminal placement and the need for the spacers it comes with), but so far it is good to go. It has a 2 year warranty too. They weren't that much cheaper than a Harley battery, so it is not like I did it to save money. |

I have been happy with the HD batteries in many bikes over quite a few years. |

This is the 3rd battery in 10 years. The second one didnt seem to last as long as the original. Ill try the Oreilys this time and see how it does. So what do you ask for as in part number or what? |

I got just over 4 years with original battery, replaced it in November 2013 with BigCrank ETX14 from Battery Mart, $72.95, still going strong (except for the normal hesitation when you hit the starter). I assume price has gone up a few dollars since then. |

Snowscum Posted on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 - Where could I buy a battery for my Uly other than the HD dealer? Thanks for the help. Amazon or any retailer that sells Yusa batteries. I use Honda PN 31500-HC4-726 (YTX14-BS) Fits many Honda motos. NOTE: I had to straighten the positive terminal to fit the Yuasa battery. My battery experience: '06 Ulysses, due to nonop* bike status, the original battery lasted about 8 months. 1st Yuasa lasted from June '06 to March 2014. 2nd Yuasa still in service * http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/207872.html (Message edited by teeps on April 28, 2016) |

When I went into O'Reilly I just asked for a batter for an 09 Buell XT. They had the part number in their computer so it wasn't an issue at all. |

All of my bikes use Harley batteries. I am averaging 7 year battery life apiece. I do use a battery tender on a regular basis. |

My Shorai pooped out because the Regulator/Rectifier crapped out. I fixed the R/R by installing a Mosfet and Shorai sent me out a really nice battery that is meant for a Harley Electraglide. It can be shoe horned into the ULY with a little modification and has way more CCA. Getting that replacement took many, many calls but was worth it. |

The Shorai that came stock on my 1190SX is already on its way out (won't start regardless on chilly days), and it spent most of its life on Shoari's expensive special charger. I really wish that EBR went with someone else for batteries, not the brand that cheaped out with subpar components and spent more money on marketing their overrated specs than proper R&D to make a good battery. My EBR made battery works better than my Shorai, and that thing is at least 6 years old. |

I bought a Scorpion Gel battery with (supposedly) 260CCA off ebay. $43.00 and free shipping. Here's the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/301887084787?_trksid=p2057 872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |

Two days ago my 2008 HD battery came up as bad on the maintainer. (over seven years) Lived its whole life out doors and in a de-tatched unheated garage that gets to 22 degrees below zero in the winters. My personal experience with Shorai batteries is that they XXXX. Not as powerful as claimed compared to lead acid glass mat OEM HD batteries. I have used other after market glass mat batteries in my Buells, and have not had any last as long as the HD batteries. HD batteries have been well worth the extra coin from my pockets. Mind you, I don't praise HD for much. Spend the coin for HD batteries. |

Went through the original and a replacement Harley battery in my 06 Uly in the first 3 years. After that I bought an early Shorai battery that is still going strong. I'd never buy another battery from Harley. When the battery in my Dyna went out (after 2 years) I replaced it with a battery from Walmart and it is still going strong after 3 years. |

My '06 factory battery was weak when.new. Never held 12.3 volts. SM says 12.6 needed to even fest ele sys. HD would not replace it. Not even when at a year and a half it had to be jumped to start in their parking lot. I went with AGM from O Reilly since. Three years seems about normal in the Uly, then I run them in the Blast for three more years. |

Seems like my HD battery is failing but I'm not ready to pronounce it dead yet. Anyone know: CCA of stock HD battery? typical parasitic draw for a Uly? The battery was installed in 2010 and will not start the bike after of couple of weeks unless on a tender. It has always cranked over a bit slow cold but that seems typical from what I see here. |

Those are the ones I am running now as I mentioned in my last post here. I have the Extreme in my X1 and the Duracell in my XT and 1125R. On my XT I had to use the weird spacers that make the cables not sit right and it doesn't clear the seat that well, but so far that hasn't been an issue. |

I'm using the Duracell now. Not enough time to tell but so far it's been good. I bought mine from Batteries and Bulbs store. It actually has a full replacement warranty not just a pro-rate. That was part of my decision. |
