I had my first ride of the season at the weekend and had about 5 hours in the saddle. I can't remember another bike that after that time riding, not a single ache or pain. I can thank my one inch drop foot rests and Saddleman seat for making the ride perfect and the 1125R is now without a doubt the comfiest bike I have ever ridden and in fairness I just didn't expect that. I absolutely love my saddlemen carbon with the xb S1's 1" drop foot pegs. A Group Order may be a possibility... you never know until you try, right? | ||

Al from American Sport Bike tried to get a group buy together the last time people were talking about the seats but not enough people were interested. I'm sure you will need at least 10 dedicated people before contacting him. | ||

There was conflicting info on the Saddlemen seats last time. They weren't on their web site, and I know someone that contacted them and was told that they weren't building them any more. But then I contacted Saddlemen and they said that they would still build them if I ordered my usual 10 minimum. But at this point, that ship has sailed. Our internal server shuts down in a couple hours right after I turn off the web store. The American Sport Bike web site will still be up without the store, but there won't be any more seat orders from here, we're gone. Al | ||

If you go back to the archives, you will see that I did this exact same thing. It was a big thread. I don't remember the number of folks that actually participated, it was lower than the initial commits. To be safe, if Saddlemen says 10, ask for 20. post Title: Saddlemen Group Order Sign-Up. post text: If we can get 10 or more folks to commit to a Carbon Saddlemen seat they will produce them for us. The cost is sure to go down as the commit numbers go up. speak up if you are interested! p.s. That air channel cools everything on a hot day... | ||

I count 7 total people wanting a seat at this point. I wouldn't mind helping head this up. Danny or Al, or would it better if one of you did it? I don't mind doing some phone calls, collecting some cash, placing orders, receiving the orders or distributing seats. I would hate for the momentum to cease because no one stepped up. So, i just need to be pointed in the right direction. | ||

American Sport Bike is out of business. We aren't ordering seats or anything else at this time. We're in the midst of trying to close up the books, not add more transactions to them. I think I didn't word it well above. When I said "But then I contacted Saddlemen and they said that they would still build them if I ordered my usual 10 minimum." I meant that when I contacted them several months back, they said they would. I have not spoken to them recently. Sorry guys, you're on your own for doing this. I can tell you that the person that I contacted last time at Saddlemen that told me that they are still orderable was Zulema Cruz. So if someone contacts them, you might try to reach her there. Hard to say, I only ordered with them as a biz. But there is a bike service shop, specializing in Buells, here (Moto Enthusiasts, http://motoenthusiasts.com/index.php/about-2/) that just started up. They're good friends and a lot of our stuff ended up at their shop as we shut down. Jacob Stark and partner Sarah Fay run the place, they're active on some of the boards. I'll talk to them and see if they can get an account with Saddlemen to do this. They have a tax number and business license and such, so maybe I can help make it work through them. I can't speak for either them or Saddlemen, but it might work. Stay tuned. Al | ||
