Jason, I CNC'd a perfect duplicate of the rubber stack out of aluminum billet some months back - at great personal expense I might add. Brian dyno'ed it for me and it performed damn near EXACTLY the same as a stock one. Search back & you will find the thread including photos of it. I'm still working on the concept but I won't bring it up until its proven to be better. Steve | ||

The key words being "duplicate of the rubber stack". There was talk in that thread about different shapes but as I recall it was decided that a "perfect" shape would probably give you no more than a few HP on an already very modified bike. Or at least that's what I remember  . Also, most thought that the perfect shape was very close to what Buell designed, further reducing the possibility that the gains would have been on the upper end of our expectations. | ||

M1, You may very well be right , but I will add that 2 riders have said that the bike definitely felt faster, they knew nothing about the stack being changed....( new design )It probably won't be any better but we'll see later in the year...KEVIN | ||

has anyone heard of the svvs by brion-james inc. they have a velocity stack that is sorter and a larger radius and they posted there dyno charts all testing was done on a stock xb9r and with a race kit.the dyno run with the race kit made over 8 rwhp if you want to check it out and see the dyno figures go to xb9r@groups.msn.com and click on xb9 performance mods they have all the pictures of the stack in the bike and there or alot of other good performance products on the site for all xb engines. | ||

Jwz7 - it's far, far better if you simply ignore those fellows. Trust us. The 8RWHP is an ABSOLUTELY ridiculous claim. Good exhaust/air filter/ECM combos aren't making that much of a gain. | ||

M1 - Yeah, my theory was that a perfect replica of the stock rubber stack, but in aluminum would flow more consistently and not deform under load or heat. I was proven wrong, my bad. It cost me almost $1k when all was said & done. It sure is pretty though! We are working on a different shape now and no, its not a copy of somebody else's idea. When it's proven to be good or bad I will post the results, fair, balanced and unafraid. If it's good enough to try to sell, Blake will be the first to know and you all will be the second. As far as questionable claims by others go - just use your own common sense and decide for yourself. | ||

Understood . I remember the thread quite well . I certainly think there are some gains to be made, but I really think they'll be MUCH more apparent on something like an 88" Nallin engine (Which is where I'm headed). |
