Anybody tried these on a Uly yet? They make a 150/70 that I'm sure would fit (this is the same size I run in a Shinko 705 rear). They also make a 170/60 that might fit better. Guys on GS's are saying they are getting 12,000+ miles out of these, which is outstanding for a knobby tire. |

Im thinking about this one or the new Ankee wild 3. Not really sure. Wouldnt hurt to try both. Ive given up on buying cheap tires. |

I didn't know the K60 came in a 160/70 size. I just put a TKC80 on my bike in that size and it fits great. K60 might be next, but that'll be a while. |

You mean 170/60? I have a TKC80 up front and I love it, but I hear the rear's only get 3-4k which is too short of life for me. There's all sorts of people getting 13k+ out of the K60's so that really appeals to me. |

I think the TKC80 up front and the K60 in the rear would be a great combo. But like i said the Anakee wild looks tempting as well. |

Just mounted my third TKC 80 up front and my first K60 scout on the rear. No miles yet on the K 60 but my tire guy said it was an easy mount and balance. |

From what Ive gathered from other bike forums, the Anakee Wild 3 is only a 3-4k mile tire. Looks like the K60 for me for sure then. |

Jeff let us know how that combo works. That is the same setup I'd like to get. I have a TKC80 on the front now with about 7,500 miles on it, I'll probably get another 1,000 before I hit wear bars. |

Still haven't put the wheel with the scout on the bike, trying to burn up a Karoo 3, first. Ran a TKC 80 front with a TKC 70 rear in 160/70 and really liked that combo, but expect both better wear and performance from the k60. The TKC 70 has similar tread pattern but th K60 is a bit more aggressive and has a lot more tread depth. Rode with a friend who was running strong at 8000 miles on the K60 on his VStrom. I'll update when I pop those wheels on. |

Here is the mounted K60, next to my soon to be replaced Karoo3. Measured and tread depth is 12/32 which is surprisingly to me, the same as the TKC70 start.

Jeff, what size is that Karoo3 and how did you like it(ride quality/traction/durability/etc.)? |

The Karoo3 is a 170/60-17. It has 3900 miles on it. Prob 3200 of that paved. Hoping for 2000 more, may not get there. Decent tire on pavement, rides relatively smooth, and not as loud as the TKC80 front I was running. It's a good gravel tire. Really accelerates well, even on washboard sections. By comparison that was the one weak area for the TKC 70, both corner well, but the Karoo accelerates the best. A couple of times on a side hill, the Karoo slipped. Wasn't bad, but on a single track where you go to the side to get around an obstacle, it could be an issue. Decent tire, wore a bit quick, expecting the K60 to outperform it, so not planning to get another. |
