did a standard engine rotation to do a valve check and need some help to ID this wiring lead I won't swear it belongs under the seat, I may have pulled it up there. It leads down the left side of the frame toward the ECU thanks

Looks like one of the CAN bus connectors. |

Looks like the one the plugs into the throttle intake solenoid. When unplugging them you would put a resistor in the plug to keep from pulling a code. |

How about the charging system? New battery, fired it up, runs fine, no errors, but also isn't charging. Voltage keeps dropping. No change to voltage when it starts up, or if I rev it |

couldnt stand it so i peaked under my seat.
not sayin thats it, but sure looks like the plug. i think it's part of the harness on mine. 2 small wires attach to it and they are routed under left side toward front. hth |

Yeah, I've got the shop manuals THe #13 VSS connector is a triangle shape The #14 stator connector is a big 4 pin one the #2 solenoid connector on mine is a dark one, but it does interchange/fit with the lead I have loose. Just doesn't seem like it can be right, given the locations and length. Tried that connection, still having the charging issue. |

Ughh, this is driving me nuts It's a 2 pin Deutsch connector. According to the wiring book, there are only a few of these, and none match up with having 2 black wires running into it. The solenoid cable is the same connector, but it's a dark grey. Now I'm wondering if it's a left over from the relay harness patch, (Message edited by sprintst on March 19, 2016) |

ok.. took some more pics; sorry for the delay.
traced this plug/ wire to under left pod as pictured; the wires/ plug definitely plug into harness as noted. not sure about that mess of wires under left pod. |

Total Harley "stator fix" harness removal instructions: Unplug everything. 2 large grey connectors with 3 yellow wires. (Stator output) 2 small black connectors with 2 grey,grey/red wires (Noid) 1 grey connector with 2 black wires. (ECM) Remove the Harley harness. (But save for now!) In the factory harness you are left with: 2 large grey connectors with 3 yellow wires. Connect them together. 1 grey plug (black wires) tape up, not used. and 2 black plugs (grey and grey/red wires) that you plug into each other (for the "Noid"). If your bike has the "Noid fix" you will only have ONE of the black plugs with the grey, grey/red wires because the other end is on the noid that was removed. The Harley harness will have the resistor plug you need in IT'S grey connector (that's why you saved it!) take it out and install into your factory black plug (grey and grey/red wires) to avoid the CEL. WORD OF CAUTION! In the factory harness. The GREY plug (small black wires) and the BLACK plug (Grey, grey/red wires) actually fit together. Do NOT plug them together. I know. Lots of words and no pics. Sorry. from the other site |

THANK YOU!!!! I finally gave up this afternoon after running it for awhile and put it back together anyway, figuring it had to be from the harness, since it wasn't in the wiring diagrams This will help me feel more confident with that choice. |
