Afternoon All: Expected to see the news here first. Production started in March. Or is all this coverage some kind of sick joke? http://www.jsonline.com/business/erik-buell-racing -restarts-motorcycle-production-in-east-troy-b9967 9298z1-370674071.html https://www.facebook.com/ErikBuellRacing/ http://auto.ndtv.com/news/erik-buell-racing-re-sta rts-operations-in-the-us-1284046 http://www.jsonline.com/business/erik-buell-racing -hopes-to-restart-motorcycle-production-in-march-b 99662505z1-367281991.html https://www.erikbuellracing.com/wp-content/uploads /2016/02/PressRelease01292016.jpg |

https://rideapart.com/articles/ebr-says-back The company has invited the general public to attend a launch party at its East Troy, Wisconsin factory on March 18th, 2016. EBR has promised free food, a "meet and greet" with the EBR team, and tours of the production line. |

Have you not seen the other threads about this? |

Other threads were older and a bit confused about what is happening. Not that what is happening is not confusing enough. |

I looked up airfare before I came to Turkey on Saturday, and it was too short of notice to get reasonable airfare. If only my return from Turkey would've lined up I would've gladly paid the change fee to have a few day layover back home. I've got plenty of vacation time but don't think it would be the best option for me to ride up... 1313 |

Someone on one of the Facebook EBR groups posted yesterday that dealerships had begun signing agreements with the new company. I have no idea where the info came from or if it's valid. EBR said last week they'd be releasing MSRP's and other info on the 2016 models this week. I haven't seen anything on that yet. |

Unfortunately NRHS will not be a dealer for the new 2016 EBRs. IMO they just didn't offer enough to the dealers to justify me taking the risk on them again. |

Sorry to hear it, Dan. Do you think there is a chance they may sweeten the deal later in an effort to get more dealers? |

hard to say. I cannot disclose too much as I had to sign a non disclosure agreement with them. |

Dan, Internet cowards are a sorry bunch for sure. Don't think for a minute that the majority feels that way because they don't. You and NRHS are very respected and we all know that you have been a Huge support for Erik and his companies through the years. We also know that EBR would love to have you on board. I just wish you were close to me so my Uly would always have a quality shop when needed. Stay with us. |

I haven't heard you " putting them down". I go further and thank you for sharing things, even when EBR had made them quite ugly for dealers, from your perspective. It's a tough, very tough, road ahead and enticing dealers I'd going to present challenges. As you know ..... My local dealer .... One of the largest in the country ..... Dropped EBR, for some of the reasons you've described, months before they went under. Anyone who would write such an email is a chicken shit. |

I just do not think LAP understands how difficult it is going to be to sell these bikes. Most folks who wanted an EBR already bought one after the closure at the fire sale prices they were being sold at last year. IMO it is going to be very difficult to sell these bikes at the price LAP is offering them at. thanks for the support guys. (Message edited by buelliedan on March 10, 2016) |

And therein lies the problem. As much as I want EBR to succeed, I'm not just going to buy a bike because THEY built it. I want them to build a bike *I* want. The 1190SX is CLOSE, but what I REALLY want is a modern version of the S3T Thunderbolt... an honest-to-God Sport Tourer that isn't trying to pretend it's also an off-road bike (like the late, lamented XB12XT). |

Come on Jaime. To say the Uly was sold as if pretending to be off-road is just not accurate. I can understand your desire for a model that suits your own taste, but no need to mischaracterize the selling of the Uly. It was marketed as a sport bike for "all roads", but never for "off-road." |

I completely agree with Jaimec! I own and ride: RS1200, S2, S3. The only one I put long miles on, 100,000 miles so far, is the S3. Power, 55 - 60 highway MPG, comfortable, Saddlebags and Ventura rack and bag, and what I call a sport tourer. That is what I want in a new Buell! Eric needs to build his racing bike, I know that, and he should. But please build a model for touring and everyday use. Eric, please build it! |

I do agree with him, a real touring machine is desired, if they were a little more available I might be running an S3T myself, but bought an Electra Glide Ultra Classic instead. It's a nice machine, but could have been a Buell if something was available. Not sure a Uly would really be the same, would be close, but not really the same. I also think they need some entry cycles, like maybe an 800 that isn't completely hopped up on steroids so it will last a nice long time. Doesn't need to be as "crippled" as a Blast, but some kind of entry level machine. Look at the Grom and the new Kawi 125 single, spec. racing is forming around those machines and in many places they can't keep the Groms in stock. There appears to be money in that 30 horsepower or less market right now. (Message edited by Greg_E on March 10, 2016) (Message edited by Greg_E on March 10, 2016) |
