Kahuna, That's Lootenant Dan's M2, "The Butcher". It's got Speed Triple headlights and a D&D system and he did all the work (cutting, re-wiring, etc.) himself. Dan's stationed in Spain right now, riding an R1100S so that's probably why you found this on a BMW site. Here's Dan whipping it around the "Microtrack" outside of Austin: HellBuelly J http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hellbuellies/ "If the person in the next lane at the stoplight rolls up the window and locks the door, support their view of life by snarling at them." --Anonymous HellBuelly

My S3T at the base of Mount Saint Helens at what is called the Lahar during SPLASH 2003 Parked next to two of my riding friends from Portland during the Shriners Toy Run 2003. That looks like Donnie Huffman from Lakeland Harley/Buell riding Chucks bike. I believe he set a record for the class on that bike. |

"Hammerz 2002 M2L.." Make that an M2LXBS1. Any details on the build, or problems/issues with mating the parts together? |

Gorgeous bike Reinhart. Any issues with running an XB belt/rear pulley without the tensioner wheel? Looks like there is nothing to stop it coming off the side of the pulley. You'd want to be sure that the rear wheel was aligned perfectly with the front pulley! |

Marilyn is alive and naked....... Left side: Left close-up: Rear view: Front view: Right side: It's been 5 long years that I've wanted this bike. In the spring of '99, I bought a left over S3T because I needed a more versatile bike. What my heart really wanted was a true White Lightning. Now I can finally say I own 2 of the finest bikes ever built and designed. A quick note about this bike.....her maiden voyage was Thursday. At almost every stoplight, someone would roll down their window and ask about the bike. I'd just nod and say thanks. I should really be saying this: Thanks Erik!!!! Dennis 1998 S1WL 1998 S3T |

Holy crap! Do you think it'll stop? What kind of muffler is that? |

Hootowl, it stops very well. Because we can't blow over 95 decibels, we tried to split the sound out both sides on the Buell Pro-Series muffler. Last year it did not keep the sound low enough, so we have placed 1/2 moon shaped baffles down the core. Because of this mod, it doesn't run well, I'm now considering another muffler. The photo of me (poor posture)is from last year. We clear coated the frame for a bare metal look, but it rusted. This year I coated it in a bronze colour to match Lucifers Hammer. I added the carbon tail and front fender, the matt black is now a spare. I recieved a lot of grief from my fellow employees for the bronze, I hope you like it. By the way it's fuel injected. PS I had a customer build and fabricate many of the parts on this bike. We could not of done it without him. Cheers, Stuart Wells, manager of Deeley's House of Buell |

I think the frame looks great. Any chance you could send me the "non dumbed down" version of that pic of the bike at full lean? (email in profile) I had the pleasure of attending your grand opening back in 99. Met Erik and saw the LSR bike. Got an autographed poster around here somewhere...

Nice work, Gootch. Tell me, are Buell Racing rear-sets still available for S1's? Mine sure could use a set.... You planning to race any Ontario rounds of Canadian Thunder? best, Lornce |

Stu,Is it the Buell fuel injection and did you run the stock ecm? What did you use for a chain rubbing block on your swingarm pivot? |

Lornce, the rear sets are copies from the factory S1's that many of the factory riders had. These are mounted to the motor and vibration is not an issue. They work great to assist with getting the weight over the front. I'll be using the bike for track days here in BC, I have a rider for it who'll race it in the twins class out here. Firemanjim, the motor is out of an X1 Lightning that was written off. We have cleaned up the heads and that's about it. I have some pistons from Henry but they're std and I've gone .005" over. The ECM is the Buell pro-series and the harness is from the X1. It was difficult getting the fuel pump in the small tank, it was also difficult mounting the 02 sensor in the pro-series exhaust for clearance with the starter. At the moment we are not using a rub block. I'm running a 22 front sprocket and 50 on the rear. Our local track is short with not much for a staight, so the chain clears the swingarm but still contacts the swingarm block. The chain runs loose and is a bit sloppy, I'll probably use a primary shoe tensioner or a chain guide off a dirt bike. Kahuna, I lent this bike last year to Darren James for his spare because tossed his rain bike. The frame on our bike was Darrens first race bike. Most of the other bits are from write off bikes, spare parts in the shop, donations from customers, and lots of hand built parts. Darren made all this happen, and it could'nt have been done without him. The photo of me is the way it was last year, and yes you probably did see it at H-D of Toronto. This year I added the carbon fiber, re-powdercoated the frame, mainly cosmetic stuff. I wanted to run a regular shift pattern so I added the Banke, but most of it got ground off on Monday. It'll probably go back to reverse pattern. |
