My CARB. set up (1997 S3T) at sea level which ran good in the mountains of North Carolina USA ... 2 1/2 out ... #48 ... #200 ... Timing mark just coming into the rear of the timing plug hole ... OEM heat range spark plugs gaped at .030 thousands ... OEM snorkel with a K&N air filter in mod'ed air box ... High test gas ... |

Those look good for "base" starting points. Buellistic is mentioning his final settings, I bet. The unofficial BadWeb motto: your mileage may vary. |

OLD SCHOOL: "BASE" starting points !!! #1. The timing must be correct for what you want your engine to do, ie: gas mileage or balls to the wall ... #2. Your spark plugs must be clean, gaped, and torque'ed correctly ... #3. It is better to start off rich than "LEAN" !!! |

More Great Advice from Buellistic!! thanks thought i could mention i discovered using Bobby Wood stepped needles helps gas mileage a lot as stepped not tapered the needle for a CV40 would be the K1 needle but not sure if he still stocks them? thats woods carb com do a search could ask the man if could recommend jetting for that needle I like Dyna tech adjustable ignition module as you can set advance curve & rev limit i think Buell advance curves too aggressive so i slowed mine n goes great |
