Hey everyone, does anyone know if swapping a 1190 and 1125 frame is possible? I am in Canada and we are unable to import the 1190's for the street. With the prices on the bikes way down, thought maybe swap onto the 1125 frame which I can register for the street. Any thoughts on the project? |

Aribox and body work wouldn't fit. You could put the motor and many performance parts on an 1125, but it wouldn't very easily resemble the 1190. |

Swapping in an 1190 motor is a quick way to add 40 HP to an 1125 tho... Thinking along those lines, the cooling system may need some help with the extra power. (Message edited by zac4mac on February 02, 2016) |

Why not just register the EBR as a Special Construction? If you can do it with a Harley clone, why not a "Buell" clone? |

All good ideas, didnt think it would work, but figured id ask. The way our laws are here, i would be unable to register it as a special build. The only way i could import it would be as a race bike, and i would have to prove it, thus the frame swap idea. Would be a nice track bike, but i already have a 12r and a RSV4 for track duty. Thanks for the response. |

I don't know what the frame differences are, but I am relatively certain that the 1125 frame could be modified so that the swap would work. The question then is, do you have the skills and equipment to do it? |

The airbox covers at minimum physically will not interchange. You would have to use an XB or 1125 airbox cover. |

The geometries of the frame are different. The EBR frame has a slightly steeper angle to it. Other than that, yes. It will work. It will not b easy and require significant fabrication and some brain-tinkering. Lots of time. What about having it titled as a Buell on the states and then transferring it across the border? A lot of states have not recognized the EBR name and have smacked Buell down on the title as the manu. |

Yeah, don't think it will happen. Not that diehard to do a lot of fab work. Canada's import laws are really strict, if it's not on the list, you can't put it on the street. |
