I have the top end out of the bike so thought I'd try to make some improvements at the same time, but have some questions. 1-Can I reuse the BIG bolt that goes through the rubber? 2-I have the S2 and a S3 front mount, I never see broken S2 mounts, I'm leaning that way. Which would you use? 3- Replacing Isolator with updated style, as per pic, is that the right way up in the pic below? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/670710.jpg Think that's it, thanks for any help. |

I would use this S2 mount, the lasted isolator uses a smaller bolt (main bolt going through the the rubber part) than the older isolator. I did install a bronze bushing in the motor mount to take up the clearance created using the smaller bolt. It just felt like the right thing to do considering the vibration going on out there. Found a bushing at McMaster-Carr the right OD and length then drills it out the right ID. The image shows the correct installed direction |

That's right, I forgot that. I read somewhere about drilling the isolator to match the early bolt. Here it is, http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/670515.html I haven't seen the new isolator yet so have no idea, but if I can't fit the bigger bolt, I'll use a sleeve for sure, thanks. |

"The image shows the correct installed direction" Correct. There's a post in the second link that says it goes in the other way for Buells, but that is wrong. The flat part goes up. There are illustrated instructions in the isolator kit from Buell and they clearly show the flat integrated washer on top, and to discard the big washer from the old isolator. |

Make sure you keep that top cut off washer so then the top motor mounts run out and you can go back to the old touring mounts. |
