FWIW, I think there was a hell of a lot that went on behind the scenes that may or may not ever become public knowledge.
I wouldn't bash Bruce, I think he played his part according to the script.
This is based on intuition, not facts. |

for me Mr. Buell is the brand , the passion, a embodiment off the bike, one off the reasons i decided many years ago, that is what i want to do the rest off my life, sharing that passion , and helping where we can
i have a strong feeling mr. Buell is not the armchair guy  |

If it is really shut down... What do you suppose the chances might be of "someone" leaking all the parts cross references to the public. You know, things like crank position sensors, TPS sensors, fuel pump parts, etc. so that we can keep things going way back alive for a good long time. We know the injection parts are pretty generic, we have most of the fuel pump items crossed, but CPS is still a bit of a mystery for many models, speedo sensor, and a few other key pieces. |

Just an FYI, the RX and SX used a turbine style fuel pump. Bosch, Delphi, Denso, and others manufacture this style.
I'm not sure you will find an exact crossover. |

I have not talked to Erik in a while but i owe him call just to check in. I just know him and he is the not the retiring sort. |

I'm right here.
Spectators have been shit-talking gladiators from the safety of the stands for thousands of years... Social media just lets them do it in their underwear with a bowl of chips. No news there.
For the record, I had the funds and financing to close at the first auction. The HERO "claims period" was never disclosed to me until the hearing, where I argued it down from unlimited to 60 days. Once the balance sheet was compromised, my lender refused to close. That left me having to keep the company viable while I replaced the primary lender.
You can Monday morning quarterback this all you like, but consider this:
-the other bidders were all liquidators. All of them.
-I'm not the only one who sought replacement financing during the receivership.
-acquisition funding is a small percentage of the required capitalization.
Acquiring EBR without a short path to capitalization is a straight road back to receivership.
-a business like this cannot be "bootstrapped"
-I came to that final auction with half a million more than LAP bid previously. The bid increment was 75K. So rather than concede, I matched and put the issue before the Court.
Some of you seem to think that the country is crawling with investors dying to put their money into manufacturing. You are sadly mistaken. Feel free to ask Erik himself. I have put my money where my mouth is throughout this endeavor, and spent 9 months pushing this rock up the hill. Those of you who have supported me in that effort have my sincere gratitude. Those who think they know better are invited to come down from the stands and onto the playing field.

I was prepared to join you on the playing field. I had $200,000 cash available which might have been enough for us to have won the auction when combined with your funding. I also could have gotten a loan for more if needed.
All it would have taken was a return phone call from you to see if we could have come to an agreement. I called several times and left messages which you acknowledged on this forum getting but you said you were "too busy".
I also know on the one XB facebook forum there were others who also said they had money to invest if needed.
While I commend you on your efforts I also condemn you in that you insisted on doing it all yourself even though others were willing to partner with you.

$200K is a lot of money, for sure. And I know you are sincere. But the structure of the deal I made did not allow for inclusion of third party equity. That would have made your cash a loan and therefore, at risk. I'm ok taking my own risks, but cannot ask that of others.
At this point, that window has closed. If we want to see EBR survive now, I suggest we keep the commentary positive, as every investment house that's interested monitors social media these days.

Thanks for explaining that to me. But like you said that window has now closed.
I am in contact with LA about what it would take to get the parts inventory. We will see what happens.

Thanks for all your efforts to date Bruce. You are right about the positive comments and the monitoring of social media. There has been a lot of negativity about the viability of EBR on this site as of late and hopefully that hasn't dissuaded a potential investor. |

When I mention Erik Buell to other motorcyclists they always use the word "visionary"; he's one of the giants of the industry. I hope that he finds the right fit for his talents. |

Thank you for providing straightforward answers.
BTW, the interest in EBR's is not gone. Talking to the guy in the pit next to me yesterday (I had my 675) about what we ride on the street. He couldn't raise the money for a new EBR, but after some talk about support, groups of us out there, etc. he is looking for one now. |
