Geez, it seems like if it isn't one thing it's another lately. I just did a shift pawl adjustment, clutch adjustment, replaced my primary shoe, adjust the primary and put in a new denso racing plug and now when I am driving from time to time I will get an intermittent sputter like I am running out of gas or the battery is losing connection and the speedometer drops to 0 mph and then turns back on, but I have a full gas tank and the battery terminals are on tight. Also I've been getting a little bit of a pulsing sensation as I hold it steady around 50 mph. Anyone know what could be causing all of these problems? |

Well, I'm experiencing more of a pulsing sensations rather than a flat loss of power, also I haven't noticed any particular increase in gas mileage. The speedometer going dead leads me to believe its an electrical issue, but I'll spray a little bit of starter fluid around the boot tomorrow to see if that could be the culprit. |

The speedo going dead could mean a dead or dirty sensor - not related. Check that gas tank vent line is not kinked or clogged either. Das boot is a good bet though. EZ |

Does it backfire when it comes back online after a stutter? |

Nope, no backfire what so ever! idles really well and everything too. I have noticed a little bit of a clacking noise (not the primary, got that all fixed and worked out) but I think that is unrelated, seems to only happen while actually driving, and doesn't happen when I rev in neutral, it might be my caliper making noise actually. Also, the bike is never hard to start, even in 30 degree weather, starts right up. I have noticed the idle has been quite a bit faster since it got colder, could it be the autoenricher messing around with things? |

So, as it turns out, the denso plug I bought was the cause of all of this, I bought IXU01-27 with was apparently causing some pinging, I switched back to the old NGK spark plug and everything is normal. Then speedometer going dead was due to one of my battery terminals being loose, I had it tightened down, but it was still moving about. sanded it down until shiny and added a washer and everything is working just fine now |

Then new das boot needed - it is too lean for an efficient plug - you are hiding symptoms - jetting should be 45 or 46 and 170 for stock 175 for other and shim needle with two #4 brass washers. EZ |

Or the plug could be defective. I got two defective denso racing plugs and finally punted to the Brisk plugs (with no issues after changing) |
