Hi all, I haven't been on here in a while but I thought I'd check to see if any one has a exhaust can and link pipe that will fit my 97 M2. A couple years ago after my last pipe shelled on a trip through the southwest Us I bought a 2.5" S.S. header from Al at American Sport Bike and have been running it with my 2" V&H stainless can. Tired of running a jerry rigged exhaust. Thanks |

I have a stock 99 2.5" can I will probably never install. No hardware or pipe though. |

I'm not sure... I would still need the link pipe. How does the stock pipe mount at the rear? Thanks |

Stock pipe has a clamp around the muffler and a "z bracket" which goes between the clamp and bottom of case. I tried finding these used but people wanted as much as the dealer for new, about $20 each. Cheaper at dealer since no shipping. That was a couple of years ago though. I just gave up and deal with my noisy v&h so the stock one sits on the shelf. |

I've seen pictures of the Z bracket but never dealt with it. My V&h has the two tabs that go up to the bottom of the case. I'm wondering how the stock can would work with the engine mods on mine. Thinking that maybe I need an aftermarket can? |

Hey Robert, I really appreciate the help. After digging around in the garage through all my old parts I found an exhaust bracket that was sent with a header I bought a few years ago on Ebay. It doesn't fit the V&H cans I have, so it may be an Oem bracket. Just thought I'd put that out there as I haven't figured out what to do yet. I'm checking with Twin Cycles on their mufflers to see which one might work as well. |

No problem. I'll be around. I've mostly been riding the Spyder lately so wife can relax on the back so thinking I might take my V&H apart for a repack. |
