Page 3-72 of the 2008 FSM shows the torque sequence for the screws that hold the "ignition cover" on. One of the screws has a brass washer on it. The manual specifies that "the fastener with the brass washer threads into the torque sequence position eight". Anyone have any idea why that washer is there, and what it does? |

The mentioned thread in the case is bored through while all other threads end in a blind hole. So oil could crawl along the thread and drip out at the engine cover. The brass washer is there to seal the screw head against the cover. Regards Alex |
