What size are the six small bolts that hold the flyscreen on? |

I have one missing also. Looks like I will change all six to make them look the same. Not going to HD to be robbed over six bolts. I tried that several years ago. Ya need six, they pack them in fours, and charge $11.00. |

Check McMaster Carr. They have just about any hardware you can imagine and ship cheap and fast. |

Do yourself a favor and run a tap trough those six holes. My 2008 had holes that were so impossibly badly threaded that it seemed like they drove the screws in with a hammer. |

The local Ace/True Value has them in stainless, and nylon washers that work. That size also works to replace the rivets in the chin spoiler and IIRC the timing cover. Like Natexlh says run a tap to clear the threads, and I personally use a touch of antiseize. |

I tapped up to 1/4=20 and they most definitely hold up better than the 10-32 screws. |

If you have access to a grinder or even a file you are better off making a thread chaser and not using a tap. Taps will cut oversize and take out more aluminum and make the thread weaker. If you cut a groove or notch in a regular screw and run that in and out it cleans up the threads without removing any more aluminum. They actually make thread cleaners but they usually come in a kit and they are not cheap but are great to have! |

Mine have steel thread-serts. And are now regular allen-head stainless bolts from Lowe's, with stainless washers underneath.

Mine looks exactly the same as Ratbuells ... but drilled and tapped for stainless allen-head 1/4-20. Also drilled out the holes in the fly screen a little to ease assembly. |

This is what I bought.... I like them to contrast and picked a color I liked.... You can get many colors and the aluminum spreads the stress over the windscreen around the bolt hole... http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-PC-BLACK-5MM-WINDSCREEN- FENDER-WASHER-BOLT-KIT-FOR-MOTORCYCLE-WINDSHIELD-J -/371317790265?hash=item567443d639:g:8VUAAOxy4t1Si -F4&vxp=mtr |

Yeah, you're right Nate... I stand corrected! Which makes socket drive, truss head screws, even easier to find. |
