1999-2007 All EFI models require the TPS to be reset if the ECM or TPS is changed. |

TPS reset is not required on the 08+ bikes as it is self calibrating, but forcing a reset couldn't hurt. Here are the directions to reset your TPS.
quote:1. Turn on the key. 2. Set the kill switch to the run position. 3. Don't start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently held closed) to fully open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently held closed). 4. Repeat 3 times. Hold at each stop (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second. 5. Turn the key off and back on.
If you put the bike in diagnostic mode (hold mode+toggle on your dash, turn key to on), one of the views shows your TPS percentage. It should smoothly roll from 2% to 100% as you twist the throttle. |

No it is not normal regardless of ECM. Do the TPS reset, if it doesn't fix it, take off your entire airbox and see if it will go from 2-100%. The airbox assembly is finicky, if it not put on perfectly it can cause binding on the throttle cables and will give you those symptoms. |
