Oh yes but not by me. A long and detailed look in the archives should help. Be prepared for those who will chastise you for even thinking of doing such a thing. |

It is a pretty simple conversion I did it on my S3T and have really enjoyed it. On the X1 the biggest issue may be the tank, regarding installing a petcock. |

An M2 petcock fits behind the rear cylinder and in front of the battery - it's the lowest point on the tank. Bolts with nylon washers can plug up the fuel pump holes. Put the bolt head and nylon washer on the inside. |

why couldn't you just use a fuel tank from a carb'd bike using the manta tank like an early S3 or an S1W? |

My Friend has a 1958 sportster, in good condition, very simple light bike!! no battery came with that they have a magneto ignition & battery eliminator. no new fangled EFI could survive in that environment !! but you have to kick start. i always loved my old Kick Start only Shovelhead! but i knew the way to kick start a harley. you used to be able to tell how long someone had been riding Harleys for just watching them trying to start them. give me simplicity any day. but my M2 still has too many electronic's even though it's carb |
