I'm thinking about replacing the highbars on the SX to the clubman bars that Buell used on the 1125CR. Since I no longer have my CR, I think the center portion of that bar was the same as the bar on my SX? Anybody have a Buell 1125CR with clubmans that they can check the diameter? I did find that American Sport Bike has the clubman bars, and sent a email asking dimensions and or if they knew if they would fit up with the EBR 1190SX. Thanks in advance! |

American Sportbike has the CR clubman bar set advertised as having 1 1/8" centers and 7/8" bar ends. They should fit the SX bar clamp well. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/18036 It also appears that they are closing their doors this spring? What's up with that? |

It also appears that they are closing their doors this spring? What's up with that? From American Sport Bike's site:
quote:The closure of Buell by Harley Davidson in 2009 has taken its toll on our business, and the continued decline in profitability since then has finally resulted in an inability to sustain the business. Other impacts on profitability – the increased business overhead, infrastructure, and regulatory costs, product purchase and sale restrictions from CARB (California Air Resources Board) - have also factored into our decision to close at this time. We are sad to go, but it is the right time.

I got my clubman bars for making the SX a convertable track day bike yesterday. It looks like they are going to sit two inches lower and forward of the originals. The bars are also a couple inches narrower. They are going to have a way better feel for arm and body position on track days than the stock bars do. |

I just received my clubman bars to put on the SX. When I had my 1125CR I flipped the clubmans and it made for a comfy riding position for the road. The SX bars are a bit to high for my liking and I like the position set up I had on the CR. I'm looking forward to swapping and flippin' these bars myself. Part of the winter project list along with the valve lash adjustment. |

I haven't installed them yet but I looked at them in both positions. If flipped, because of where the EBR clamp is situated as compared to the Buell clams it appeared that it would position the clubman bars nearly as high as the stock bars, and still a few inches forward of the stock bars. For my arm length they will have to sit in the normal up position, with an American Flag sticker or something covering the Buell logo. Either way these style bars will work out great for the SX. |

Why would you cover the Buell logo? |

M1combat, I plan to cover the logo because Buell Motorcycles isn't the same company as EBR who built the bike, because unknowing people would see the logo and think it was a Buell and possibly inquire where I would have to correct them and explain my modification, and because I think The Flag would look cool there. |

Ebrfan - did you ever get the clubman bars installed. I purchased the bar, started playing around with the fitment and even installed them but couldn't get things to line up and fit properly. |

No, Dualbuels, I didn't put them on because I bought the LSL drag bars instead for a more upright ride position, but still lower than the stock SX bars. The new clubman bars are sitting here collecting dust for now. If I remember correctly they fit mine during mock-up but the controls needed some finagling. |
