speaking of Canepa, he enjoyed a front row Q & a R2 top 10 at Magny-Cours |

Rumors are linking Nicky Hayden with PATA Honda. Interesting, but I sure wish he got a shot with a COMPETITIVE machine instead of that outdated Honda... I would've loved to have seen him on either the Aprilia or (even better) the new Yamaha R1. Oh well... |

It's official: Hayden will race with TenKate Honda next year with Michael van der Mark as his team mate. http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wsbk/nicky-hayden- world-superbike-factory-honda-team-2016/ |

Well, no reason to watch the season finale. Rea already wrapped up the title, and apparently Biaggi injured himself and won't wildcard after all. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2015/Oct/151014b.ht m Bring on 2016 and Nicky Hayden!! |

I'm afraid I might've just lost all respect for Nicky. I mean... SERIOUSLY: What's up with the "Man Bun??"

Nicky's from Kentucky, not West Virginia. |

Seriously: Who would think the racer known as "The Kentucky Kid" hailed from West Virginia?? |

Who would think someone hailed as the "Kentucky kid" would have a man bun? Roger needs to hold him down and shave his head. |

Maybe Roger could hold him down while Tommy shaves his head... |

Ok technically you are 100% correct but is there REALLY any difference? I bet he wears those tight-ass jeans too. |

Regardless of hair and jeans, I hope he does very well in WSB next year. I'm going to have to renew my Bein channel. Might as well drop FS1 since my interest in MotoGP is waning. |

Unfortunately, he's tasked with riding the oldest, most-out-of-date motorcycle on the grid. While nearly every other manufacturer (with the possible exception of Suzuki) having upgraded their bikes, the Honda is hopelessly outclassed. I'll be happy if he even manages a podium next year. |

WSBK racing on Saturday in addition to Sunday at Laguna this year. great decision from the fans perspective. |

There's no question of Alex Lowes or Sylvain Guintoli's talent but... neither one of them are a "Ben Spies." I really think Yamaha made a big mistake by not taking Cameron Beaubier out of MotoAmerica and into WSBK this year... |

Nicky was faster than his team mate in FP1. Always a good sign. Can anyone stop Rea in 2016? |

Nice to see Nicky running with the leaders again. And he JUST missed out on a podium in Race 2, too. Looks like the Honda is still kinda/sorta competitive (especially in the hands of van der Mark). |

Not sure what's up with Sykes, maybe just burning up the tires too quickly... although in race two he was right up there until he made an error and ran it wide, letting everybody through. Rea, with the 1-2 punch, first races of the season. I think VDM will be the one to watch, he's coming with some heat. |

Nickys front tire went away and he had nothing. For just the first races I think hes one to watch as the team gathers info from Nicky to help him. |

For 2016 the noise levels of the WSBK class is raised to 115dB.... That is a 10dB raise..... It is significant since the Panigale is not using any "silencers", and looking at the Philip Island race , Chaz Davies was not loosing down the straight compared to the 4cyl bikes... I am wondering what the improvement of the performance of last year's WSBK EBR 1190RX would have been if they could use the 115dB limit....As far as I can remember , there were complaints from the EBR team that they had to use that conventional muffler to the side of the bike , instead of the standard underslang muffler used in the AMA. Problems from the side muffler : 1. It was ugly. It was not representing the EBR design.... 2. It compromised the chassis setup of the bike , since the height of the bike had to be increased in order for the muffler&link pipe not to drag while cornering.... 3. What about power ? How much power was lost , if any ? The EBR engine is supposed to be more "noisy" than the Ducati..... so maybe the reduced noise limits were hurting the EBR , more than Ducati's 2cyl engine ..... What are the noise limits for the AMA series ? Because for AMA EBRs were using the normal underslang exhausts ....... I know that this is history , but it would be nice to discuss this, if someone knows anything about it ...... (Message edited by vagelis46 on March 03, 2016) |

What I'm looking forward to is Nicky's first race in over a decade on a production-based bike at Laguna Seca. One pundit realistically said he didn't expect Nicky to win BUT he did expect him to snatch pole position. It'll be interesting... |

On the noise issue of Ducati/EBR. The last time I was at Daytona, The EBR snarled down the back stretch. The 848 Ducati BOOMED. Much louder and deeper than the EBR. Of course the 4 bangers screamed at 10 kazillion rpm. I believe the difference in sound is from the desmo valvetrain that allows cam ramp profiles impossible to run with a cam follower and valve spring design. Nickey looked good at PI, with a solid 4th in the second race. And he looked like he was riding the bike with a lot of push in the front. The last few laps he was definitely nursing the bike in the corners. I think that when they figure out the front, he will be a force to be reckoned with. |

I think Nicky is enjoying being competitive again. Now he just has to start doing better than his team mate. |

I was really hoping he would do better but realistically he's so used to being in the middle of the pack...old habits. I'm sure things are new and different and will take some adjustment. I'd just like to see him be much more aggressive. I really don't see him displaying much confidence. He just hasn't been right since that Ducati tossed him a few years ago in Indy.
