Is the ECM Spacer block enough to protect the ecm? Originally when I purchased my uly it never had the spacer block so I fitted it a while back. I have never noticed any rubbing on the ecm just on the tip of the spacer block. Do I need to relocate the ecm? Is there anyone that sells the bracket to mount the ecm to the torq screw that attaches to the rear shock. |

I can only speak to my 2006 which IIRC has lower profile plugs than your 2008. In my case the spacer does contact the seat before the ECM does, but with heat and my weight on the seat I'm of the opinion that the spacer pushes the shock shroud down along with the attached ECM. Spacer blocks didn't prevent my ECM from failing, which is why I moved it after reflowing the board. YMMV. |

On my '06, I found the 1 spacer block it had was not enough (based on applying some marking paint to the seat pan). I fabricated a 2nd block for the other ECM mounting bolt to keep the pan from contacting the ECM case. Did not relocate ECM. |

I pulled the battery tray out of mine, switched to a 12 cell lithium battery, and relocated my ECM in front of the battery standing up. This gave me much more room than the other relocating options, short of extending the ECM plugs to the storage section and putting the ECM there. At NRHS we had to replace a customer's Uly ECM that went bad and he had the spacer, so no, in most cases it isn't enough. |

Can you please post a picture of your setup? Also can you post a link of the 12 cell lithium battery, does it take any special cables or just hooks up like a regular battery. Say hi to Zak if he still works there. Last time I left NRHS, it took me 8 hours riding my uly in the snow to Colorado Springs, since then I have barely ridden the uly. |

I'm actually in your neck of the woods now; I moved to Fountain little over a month ago. I'll try to get some pics for you; It's cold as hell out in the garage :P . The battery I used is a Ballistic 12 cell lithium. I got I NIB on eBay for $160 almost 2 years ago for my S2, but moved it to the Uly when I was having battery performance issues with the Drag Specialties battery it had in it. The lithium battery turns the motor over with ease, even with the extra CCP I'm running in the newest build (200+ psi compared to 150-160 psi stock). |

I could tell my seat was rubbing on the ECM. I took a few pieces of adhesive backed velcro and put it on top of the block. It raised it enough that the seat is no longer rubbing on the ECM. Simple, cheap solution that seems effective. |
