Took my 2008 1125R out for a ride and noticed the throttle was not responding at low speeds. When it is turned beyond where speed and revs should match and bike lurches. Before I take it in for service any input what might be the cause would be appreciated. |

Try tps reset, check for codes. |

@djb press both buttons on your instrument cluster and the turn the ignition key to "on". Then you are in the factory mode - you can read fault codes if there are any available and check all stats. With the lower button you can switch through different menues. Also make a "TPS-Reset" - for more information please use the search function. Hope this helps |

Also check your battery voltage. A low system voltage will make the TPS terribly unhappy. What you're looking for in the factory diagnostic mode is a smooth TPS change from 2% to 100% (I think - it might be 3% or so, but it should be quite low). If it's not doing that, try a TPS reset, which involves cycling from 0 throttle to 100% throttle, holding it at each end a few times, and doing this a few times. If this doesn't fix it, pull your airbox & air filter, pull the lower cover off, and inspect the throttle linkages. There's a breather hose that can shift and prevent the linkages from moving freely. If *that* doesn't fix it (everything is moving freely down at the throttle end, and the TPS reading is still goofy), you might have a bad TPS, but I don't think they've been failure prone on the 1125s. |

I had the same problem with my 08 before last winter. The bike lacked power, she just didn't want to get up and go. Before and after a TPS reset it would read 2 to 30%. I took it to the Buell dealer and they replaced the ECU and TPS, with no luck. They ended up replacing the throttle body which actually solved the problem. The mechanic told me that there was a known issue where the linkages could get bent and thus not be able to fully open. |

I followed Syonk's instructions and it is fixed. Thanks everybody for your input. This is an example of why this is such a great forum. DJB |

Which of my instructions fixed the issue? |

I recently denoided via local HD and then did a TPS check. I was only getting 80% throttle. Opened up the the whole bike and made some adjustments in the throttle body and linkage area and HOLY SHIT. Maybe its just me but I thought the bike ran like a bat out of hell. Anyone else? |

Syonyk's instruction to reset the TPS by cycling from 0% to 100% throttle fixed it. |

Riding into work this morning the battery light kept going on when idling at stop lights. Do not know if it matters but had to reset the TPS last night as I was getting odd throttle responses. Any thoughts why the light would go on? Thanks |

Hey Everyone, Along this thread... I had similar issues, it started with an O2 sensor error (P0131). I replaced it with one from Ebay, reset the TPS and confirmed through the diagnostic that I have 2% to 100% TPS. However, when I ride, the bike lacks power, however sometimes in 2 and 3rd gear, it will get a 'burst' of power at lower ( one-third ) throttle levels. I really don't understand. I also recently got a IAC SYS Error (P0506). the bike runs, but just not like it used to. If I unplug the 02 sensor and turn the bike on, it still starts. I have not tried to ride it with it unplugged, and think going through a cycle of unplugging the sensor, riding the bike, then plugging it in may work, but not sure. In this thread, there is a post about a new Throttle body, which I'm happy to try, but want to make sure I have exhausted all options. As I'm not sure if replacing the throttle body will solve the O2 sensor issue. Thanks for any ideas. |
