That tank makes the bike. The rest isn't too shabby, either! |

The Tank is a Holtworks Buell small tank, workmanship is amazing, too good to paint, left it polished just to show the construction. |

What was the final price on the fuel tank? Did you have it epoxy lined or just raw aluminum inside? Any special prep before adding fuel? Have you run it at least long enough to get a good idea on leak check through welds? I'd love to have one.... Or two....... |

Jolly - price, I paid less than they are asking for now (brothers in buells link), I was part of a group purchase from UKBEG and was one of the last to receive my tank. All other tanks delivered (to my knowledge)had been fitted unlined, I just added fuel. There was marking on the bottom that indicated a leak test had been passed (I guess that probably would have been a pressure test). Have not heard of any of the tanks leaking to date, fingers crossed. Hybridmomentspass - needed a repaint due to having had a tough life (scuffs, scratches and paint flaked off in a couple of areas). Loved the standard blue colour, but with a polished tank it didn't pull the look of the bike together (was the last bit of blue left on the bike). The purpose of the hydro-graphic on the tail piece was to blend the polished with the carbon fitted, which I think it does quite well. I was unsure if I would like it at the time of getting it done, decided I could always repaint if unhappy. |

Red93stang - as Purpony wrote B2R shifter (as is the triple tree), bought back in 2005 and it sat on a shelf waiting for me to get round to it (same as the triple tree). BWB did a group buy on these shifters back in 2011 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/653232.html?1317126990 Purpony/ Dannybuell - thanks |
