Just for a point of reference, I dyno tested a stock muffler and stainless Drummer back to back on the dyno, with a tune built from multiple rides and data logs on the Drummer, on my built Ulysses motor. Both pulled nearly identical power with nearly identical curves. The drummer made 103.50 RWHP and the stock muffler pulled 103.51. In stock form, the bike pulled 75.92 RWHP. |

Actually I forgot to mention that there was a small hiccup in lower RPM with he stock exhaust, but I think that's because it was still running the drummer tune when I dyno'd it. I'll see if I can pull up the dyno chart to post here. |

I'm guessing the hiccup was at 2300 rpm on the drummer tune? |

I don't know the exact RPM because I couldn't reach the spark plug wire to attach the RPM pickup lead on the Dynojet. But 2300 sounds right since it was at the bottom. |

Something to consider for the future. My '06 Uly ran good with same set up you have. I then switched to the map that Al @ American Sport Bike used in the muffler shootout back in the day. Picked up 4 RWHP (peak) and better overall run ability. YMMV Frank |

My implication is that the Drummer has awesome sound and ultra-smooth torque band, but in my experience, peak performance isn't higher than the a stock muffler with proper tune. The tune I ran on the dyno with the stock exhaust wasn't ideal, but it was definitely better than running a stock tune, though that wasn't an option in my case anyway. |

Phelan your right. not a jump in torque, but a nice mellow thump with hardly any hiccups. im happy all the way around. |

I recently removed my Race ECM and went back to the stock ecm with race map. I have just a drummer and air filter. I found it to be a lot smoother over all. The cold start circuit needed to be fattened up as well as turning off the exhaust servo cel. What ECM are you using? |

Xoptiinside is still a functioning website, correct? I have been considering doing business there.. earlier this year, the website was up for sale, he wasn't in business, then for sale was gone and prices tripled. Other features were added tho. Hate to see folks work and market theirselves and then their products are shared, stolen , pirated, or whatever it's called. Any comments or thoughts on his products? |

Michael is a great dude and very good at what he does. He is at a crossroads though where he is switching hobbies, getting back into professional fishing IIRC, and his race bikes and custom bikes are for sale. My friend Joe met Michael at his house for his 25,000 miles service on his Uly. The explanation I got from Joe was that Mike was tired of cheap people messing up his tunes after he tuned them and having to fix them, and that he raised the prices at one point mainly to deal out those people, to simplify his work and save a lot of time. A fair explanation to me. (Message edited by phelan on December 04, 2015) |
