I have a stock 2009 Buell Blast and i'm trying to get it to sit a bit higher. I'm wondering about getting a longer and stiffer (possibly adjustable) rear shock. Does anyone know how much height I could achieve with a longer rear shock? What shock I could use to do this? Any difficulties? I'm fairly new to motorcycles mods so any input would be greatly appreciated. |

Patfog-- I can't help with a recommendation as to your specific question, but realize that for every bit you raise the rear of a bike, you're effectively steepening the rake angle of the front forks. Do you have a plan to also raise the front? You might consider posing this question in the "Thumper" (Blast) section of these forums, and/or read through the threads there. Most likely, someone there has done something similar... (Message edited by daddio on November 12, 2015) |

I wasn't planning on modifying the front at all. I was hoping the angle would not be effected enough to need modification/correction. Instead of a longer shock I am now looking at fabricating a bracket that will bolt on at the top of the shock and lower the point of connection for the stock shock. But I will definitely check the angle once I get the brackets on. |
