Talked with a Cop buddy of mine who was stationed in Saudi for a number of months.... On Patrol one night he saw one run across his path bout 40 feet out. It stopped and turned toward him... He didn't stay around to see if it came after him. Size: They get pretty big, but I've seen pictures of fights set up between Scorpians and these things, and Its a pretty good bet the spider will win. |

...So I'm getting ready for my shift at a movie theatre in Lubbock, Texas and I slip on my shoes, which I keep in a dressing room there. As I walk out into the theatre lobby, I feel something moving around down near my toes...Yikes! I snap-kick my shoe off my foot, across the lobby in front of all the customers and it smacks into the far wall. Out crawls a poor battered beastie of the type pictured above (about 2-2.5 inches long). He definitely had the worse experience of the encounter, but to this day, I always shake out my shoes before I put them on! Here's a nice site about keeping them as pets: http://www.tarantulaspiders.com/pages/solifugid.htm Enjoy! Hey fellow Buellers - I'm a newbie to the brand as well as to the board, and I am hopeful someone can help me. I'd like to find a good online company that makes vinyl flames. I need it in a custom color. Any advice appreciated! TIA, Christina (and Buella the Blind Rat) |

jim: napoleon makes a mirror that bolts into the stock mirror threads. i've got a pair on my m2 and i love them! they're not as tall as the stock mirrors, and they don't stick out beyond the ends of the bars (which is great for lanesplitting)... |

Some of you may know ChopTop's dad from the Salt Flats. He's many things: WWII veteran Land Speed Record holder Friend Chop and his Pop have a father/son bond that is an inspiration. His dad is tough as nails and sure to get through thison his terms. Vik |

Thanks for all your input guys! About Buella... A couple days after I bought my Blast, I was at Petco and there was a young couple trying to return this rat. Petco refused to take her back, so these two were going to just turn her loose. It was one of the coldest days of the year, and there's no way this poor rat would have survived. I offered to take her. I walked back into the store and $150 in supplies later, she and I were off for home. It was a couple days later that I figured out she was blind. I have no idea what happened to her in her "previous life", but she seems truly appreciative of her warm home and continuous food supply. I just need to make sure I keep her up high enough that the dogs don't get any funny ideas. I'll try to upload a pic of us soon Christina & Buella the Blind Rat (sable colored with a lotta chrome) |

After getting the heads and cylinders off the '99 S3 we were going to take the pistons off the rods this afternoon. It appears that the factory used some sort of crimp (a square indent) to keep the wrist pins in place. I looked in the KV section and Zippers has a pin removal tool but I was wondering if that crimp might scratch the pin as it comes out. Has anyone else run across this? What would be the best way to remove the wrist pins since the manual doesn't mention it. |

Well yeah, I didn't mention that the circlip came out ok but the indentation is keeping the pin from coming out. |

Is the crimp on both sides? I'd suggest a Dremel tool, but that's probably the wrong answer. |

The Buella the Blind Rat story reminds me of a behavioral psychology class I had in college. We trained a rat in a Skinner box and did term papers on the results. At the end of the quarter, we were informed that the rats couldn't be used again for psychology and would be used in biology courses. My lab partner was horrified at the prospect, so she adopted (stole) the rat. I often wonder exactly who trained who during that class. |

One more day in the TedK T-shirt/hat deal, folks. Buy an American Sport Bike T-shirt with a cool firebolt graphic on it, or an American Sport Bike hat, and ALL profits go to TedK's fund to help with rehab/med expenses... Al |

MAN OH MAN DO I HATE THIS GIG! THIS JOB S**** Production decides to increase run size by 25% and when do they tell me? The week they actually start running at that rate. With 4-6 week lead times on crucial supplies I am screwed. Who's fault it it? Mine, seemingly I am supposed to ask every day if we have changed anything. No one is supposed to tell me unless I ask. BS Thanks for listening! |

Dave, Just send everyone a predetermined automated email message, asking whatever's necessary, do it daily and require a return receipt. If they don’t all have email, then make a form letter and have it placed in their inbox. If they don’t have either of the above, then you should be happy to have a job that will pay you to go around and ask everyone if any changes have been made. -JW:>? |
