Hey gang, I was hoping someone wouldn't mind offering a little bit of their wisdom... I just picked up an 09 CR and need to change out the clutch cover puck. I haven't gotten my hands on a manual yet but, intend to get one shortly. In the meantime, I have two questions about this: First, does the puck just snap in or, does it unscrew from the cover? Second, will there be any appreciable fluid behind it or, will it gravity feed everything from the master cylinder into the cavity behind the puck when removed? Thanks in advance for your time. If this is what you are referencing, there is a slot at the bottom of the "puck" in the case that you can use to pry the "puck" off. You should not have fluid behind there unless your clutch slave cylinder is leaking.

Thanks guys! I've gathered that people find differing levels of 'residual' fluid behind the cover from semi-leaking slave units. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't opening a potential can of 'puck' worms... I'd be prepared with a rag or two either way but, didn't want to dump fluid everywhere if I misunderstood the monkey- motion going on behind the cover. I would certainly think the fluid is routed directly to the slave unit between o-rings, capturing the fluid pressure within. At least, that's my theory??? I Appreciate your help. Tracy |
