I was told when I bought my M2,HD says that 1 QT.every 1000 miles is acceptable.I think this is kinda high,but thats what I was told. | ||

One quart every 1k is absurd. Some oil, sure, but not that much. My XB9 might use 8 oz between oil changes. Of course, YMMV. | ||

I have personally gone through a little over .25 quart in 500 miles. On track for maybe 3/4 of a quart in a thousand miles. What kind of oil you guys using? | ||

My XB9S with 10,000 miles on it uses a maybe 4 ounces over a few thousand miles of fairly hard riding. I'm using Mobil 1 15w-50. Keith | ||

Joojoo, during the first 1600km my XB12 used heaps, enough to make me look for oil leaks, what Richie said is correct. I think the other posters missed the during its first 1600KM?bit. | ||

Thanks Opto, Ive go just over 430Km on her now, and I noticed that my oil is just at the bottom of the FULL area, but it was in the middle when I got the bike. I just want to know what to expect.... Jack | ||

Make sure your checking it right after running it for at least 10 minutes,or some of the oil will still be in bottom end......Later Charlie | ||

My Firebolt's never used more than a couple ounces - barely even enough to notice, eveen after a hard 3000 mile romp around the northeast. 15,000 miles. | ||

Im still in the break-in zone (450KM) so Im still rinning the stock HD 2050 that came with the bike.... Ill jump into Synth at my 1st oil change... Jack |
