V-4 2-Stroke 500cc, simple and can be a screamer or a torque monster--200Hp easily and 325Lbs gassed up. Emissions no problem--look at Evinrude E-TEC, running on 87 octane, meets EPA2013 CARB 3 STAR European Union.

I want a retro-modern tuber. 2016 S1W. Styling largely unchanged from the original. Maybe more power/torque and the benefit of 15+ years of handling knowledge. But, same sexy styling that attracts people to the original, and same that could win over buyers of the Ducati Monster.

Want for a Ducati S4T lead me to a Triumph Trophy (more affordable) which in turn lead me to my S3T

A big honking 800 cc single and 280 pounds light. Top out at 125mph and has three gears with a narrow belt drive.

The head would house a Coates Spherical Rotary Valve instead of camshaft and poppet valves (not to be confused with a two stroke rotary intake).

Runs on gasoline or diesel, less complex and lighter than other engines.

Mag,
Looks like someone in the process of creating a cafe racer from a Suzuki Savage/Boulevard S40.

I would like something like this:

Big, fast, capable of blasting two up across the country in style.
A center stand is a big plus as is the luggage, wind protection and flat, comfortable seat.
The old tube frame Buells do just great for the tear around bikes, the Useless makes a good commuter and workhorse, I want a sports tourer, please.

Oddball..... you nailed it man!!. I am tired of waiting for somebody to do such a bike. It sits in the corner of the garage and winks at me. I will get there but it takes time and talent. I have the time.... working on the talent though.

Beat me up for being off topic but...

Here is some nice tech that I hope does not take hold for motorcycles.... I prefer to drive my own thank you.

I have an 02 RS right now which is just a great bike. I'm probably going to end up with 4 Buells, 4 Triumphs when all is said and done.
We'll see what EBR does, though. I don't want an adventure bike with bags and a screen that looks like a rolling wart, I want a real sport touring bike.

Mag,
They have a distinct profile. My father liked them in the late 80's but never got his license. He still asks about them but at his age and fused vertebrae i doubt he'll ever buy one.

I don't know how locked into tradition you are for your cafe vision but if you apply a couple buellisms it may make the creation very unique and function better. The open space behind the cylinder, put your fuel tank there. Perhaps give it a look of side covers or old round racing plate to conceal it. Then make an airbox where the tank normally is. You'll have to put a fuel pump in the new tank and switch to injection or downdraft carb. Recycling parts from various old bikes could get you suspension and brake upgrades as well.

I don't think Buell's success can or should come from replacers, sport tourers or dual sports. It should come from it's roots. Meld the original rude minimalist bikes with the more current elements. Somehow. I'm telling you, this is something that would be received by many and would be easier to design, (drawing from existing elements) and build. Viola!

There is no charge for this suggestion, I offer it as a gift to the new deal.

May all of our asses be kicked!

I want a killer blast. I miss my blast and the potential that could have been.
A blast enduro or half an SX.
Fire roads are a national treasure and I have no bike to enjoy them on.
I need 2, one for the bride.
Oh, and most important, light.
Enduros are needed, my generation grew up on them.

Surprise me with an 800cc single, four stroke with a Coates Spherical Rotary Valve CSRV (no poppets & not a common rotary valve either).

That should be good for a base model of 50hp at 40fp and factory optioned to 80hp at 65fp. Air cooled of course.

Tuber frame of carbon fibre to preformed carbon tube yolks and single rear swing arm should bring the weight down to 285 lbs. Belt drive and optional carbon fibre wheels and perimeter brake.

Kick starter because the CSRV allows selection of an initial low compression kick and no backfire.

Yes, I am being redundant.
