I have a 01 S3T w/91,000 miles and the transmission shifts fine going up through the gears but take quit a bit more effort to down shift, any Ideas. I am pretty mechanical, is this something I can fix.... Glenn |

If you're lucky it's a shifter pawl adjustment. |

And it's a tuber, so once you have the primary off, you are literally about 15 minutes from having that whole transmission out and sitting on your workbench. |

It may be obvious once the cover is off. Let us know what you find, eh? Mine is just behind yours in miles so This may be something for me to look forward to. |

sounds like the clutch is not disengaging properly. how much end play do you have at the lever? |

That sounds like a possibility, I will try that, I really don't want to pull the primary off. Otherwise the bike is running great |

Clutch end play is good, installed new clutch cable about two months ago. Is this going to cause any long term damage. Is there some kind of return spring that might be getting weak??? |

Cable and lever adjustment are fine, just takes some extra effort to down shift over upshift. I ride 40 miles to work each way and if I take the interstate I only have to down shift a few times per trip. I will probably ride a few more times before I have the time to tear into it. |
