I have everything I need to install highbars except the instructions. I was just wondering if the routing is the same for all the cables or if some are re-routed. If the instructions are posted anywhere a link is appreciated.

The routing is the same I tied a wire to the throttle cables then pulled them out carefully then pulled the new ones back through.

Ok thanks. So the wires to the controls are long enough? I just have clutch and throttle.

You do have the longer throttle cables, right?

The wires should be long enough, but my front brake switch wires on the throttle side get pulled loose every once in a while at full steering lock. It's part of my pre-ride check.

If there were a female-to-female spade connector, it could be used as a ~1/2" extension, which would be perfect.

Yeh I have the throttle, clutch cables and bars. Just kind of pieced it all together so no instructions and wasn't sure if there was anymore to it. Thought I had it all and just wanted to be sure before I go breaking everything apart.

ive changed back and forth a couple times. I just switch out bars and throttle cables. I just leave the longer clutch hose on there with the clubman bars.

I got started on it but got distracted so will work on it some more tomorrow. Too many irons in the fire.

Got the bars on, wasn't bad at all. Hardest part was trying to figure out why the controls had an 1/8" gap and wouldn't clamp together. After about half an hour I finally saw the hole in the bars that locates the controls via a small plastic protrusion inside the control assembly, which I had successfully smashed flat....man did I feel like a . Love the bars...

Yeah it's kind of a funky setup... I don't know if other throttles are likes this.

The idle cable ends with a metal snub shaped like a capital "D". That slides into the channel after you've attached the cable to the throttle tube, with the flat part of the "D" towards the other throttle cable.

After attaching the other throttle cable to the throttle tube (which is SO MUCH FUN), the plastic block on that cable slides down and locks into the flat part of the "D", locking everything in place when you install the other cover, tighten the screws, and clamp everything down.

On top of that, there's a small notch in the throttle (open) cable housing by the locking block: it slides into the notch in the housing by the idle cable, locking the cables in place.

The trick is to do it without cussing.

Anything worth doing CANNOT be done without cussing.

One other thing I noticed that might benefit others doing this conversion, is that the clutch cable is the same length. I think it would have worked fine but I already had it off so I used the one that came with the high bars. The only difference I noticed was that the banjo fitting for the clutch resevior was at a slightly different angle. I'm fairly confident that the original would have worked. Wish I had tried it before I went to all the trouble pulling it off.
