40K miles. They've either cleaned the heck out of it, or it did those miles on a treadmill. Looks brand new. Good price. |

That is one clean used bike and impressive pricing from a dealer. |

That is a great price especially considering that bike has thunderstorm heads, big exhaust etc. same engine as an S1WL. |

Really??? I don't think it's that great for a S3 with almost 40k miles. But it sure looks purdy. |

Looks nice...but 3 grand? No, for that much you can get a much lower mileage S3 around these parts |

I don't think that's a bad price. I've been looking for a s3t for awhile and can't find a decent one in this area. What about the Rooke "slotard" they have, pretty interesting. I'd ride it. http://www.suburbanharley.com/default.asp?page=xIn ventoryDetail&noredir=1&id=487630 |

Yeh much better deals out there. I've got $3400 in my 2009 1125cr. Its only got 4300 miles on it. Dealers are always going to gouge you. It is a sweet bike, though. (Message edited by figorvonbuellingham on September 14, 2015) |

Look again. It's clean, and relatively unmolested. The air cleaner has been changed. Everything else looks stock. And it has PM wheels (which can, depending on your point of view, increase or decrease the value of the bike...but they were a $1K option) Were I in the market for an S3, I wouldn't hesitate to pay $3K for it. |

the carbed bikes are worth more than the later FI bikes. |

^^^ May I ask why? I personally love my carbed Buells. Easier to "tune" when you get into aftermarket parts. But I can't see why they'be be more valuable. |

the carbed bikes are worth more than the later FI bikes. Really? With a laptop, cable, the manual, and software maintaining FI has been easier from my experience than dealing with a carbonator.. } |

the Tubers Buell FI is not exactly known as being a great system. Look at the prices of a 1998 S1WL vs a 1999 X1 as verification of my point. |

And using the 1125s as a comparison is really worthless. A comparable 2009 XB12 Firebolt sells for a LOT more than a 2009 1125 even though the 1125 sold for quite a bit more. The 1125s have tanked as far as resale value. |

I don't think comparing an S1W to an X1 is apples to apples. And it has nothing to do with the FI. The S1W is a MUCH sexier bike. I wouldn't ever trade my S1W for an X1 just based on look alone. |

I think the tuber fuel injection does have something to do with the value of the bikes. I bought my M2 in 2007 and I was told by more than one person at more than one dealer and these were dealers that supported the product yes they did exist. "Buy the carbed bike leave the FI bike alone." We have several guys on here with FI bikes converted to Carbs have yet to here of a Carb bike converted to FI. |

I'm converting my carb bike to FI. But I've also invested a lot of time in learning and playing with the FI to my advantage. |

This was about that Nice S3 and I think Great Price for 1st ThunderStorm S3.Fuel inj. in the early days 1999 + some other years was Bad.but corrected in soft ware is the Best especially in cold starts and all other performances compared to carb.I have both. But I would not hesitate to buy a carb S3. |

Ok Ross that is one. But it's not like the rest of us have the tech base to pull off that mod. When you are done I am sure a lot of us would like to know if it was worth it. |
