Long story short, I sold my xp 3 or 4 years ago for a variety of reasons. It's still the best street bike I've ever had, and I think about getting another. I have the opportunity to buy back the same bike. It looks like the owner hasn't put many miles on it in that time. I think I sold it with around 10,000 miles and it only has 14,600 so it's very low mileage. He says he hasn't had any problems with it, and the only thing he's changed is the rear wheel bearings. I've been out of the loop for awhile, and have no idea about things like parts availability, the state of support from HD and general ownership issues of a bike from a brand that no longer exists. It looks like American Sport Bike is still around so that is great. This would share the garage with a ktm 690 enduro. It seems like a perfect combo of hooligan bikes for different purposes. I'd like another uly but not if it means not having parts, I guess that is my main concern. Thanks |

Parts situation is the same as it was when you sold the bike. Nothing really new to say. Aftermarket suppliers come and go, I've seen some disappear but then someone else starts carrying stuff for us. |

Welcome back Jim, Can't believe I'm doing this but thinking about selling mine. Full xp 2009, factory install, all works (including siren) and changed to white lights to be legal. I'm having no problems finding parts but hear the 2010 wheel is getting harder to find. HD support for me has been weak, do all myself. The ownership issues are the same, once sorted all seems well. Some special parts are being built by guys on forum. If I sell would like to have first dibs on buying it back if you decide to get rid of it. Would like to see it go to someone who would appreciate what it is, or good luck in getting your original bike back. Wondering if I will have the same sellers remorse. |

It has been my experience so far that an unmolested, non wrecked, 14,000 mile XB of any form, is still a new bike. Especially good in that you really do know the first owner. It seems that mileage has less to do with if the bike has problems than just dumb luck timing of when a problem might show up. |

My brother had borrowed my Uly a couple of times when we took a trip. I rode the Harley which limited us to pavement. Last Spring he located an 09 Uly for a great price and this year we both rode the Uly's. It started off as a wonderful trip but was shortened when I went hiking and shattered my heel. Should have stayed biking! Point is I would have no problem riding anywhere even after 42,000 miles. I have made several improvements over the years but it's an 06 so there were a few more things to improve but all seems solid now. |

Thanks guys. So, assuming the bike is still in great condition and no issues, similar spec to Fotoguzzis bike. What is it worth/going price? |

"It's still the best street bike I've ever had". Without wishing to be rude why would this comment be something less than positive on buying this bike. Also it is your old bike, with dam all extra miles on it, so you know its history which is a VERY important factor on buying any bike. |

"would a, should a, could a. just go get the bike". Well said, Sir. I think if you earn your money you have a right to spend it as you like. Life is short enjoy it while you can. |

I too am wanting another Uly. Regret selling my 06 a couple of years ago. No other bike has ever been as much fun to ride as the Uly. I bought it overseas through the military sales program and rode it all over Europe for nearly 6 years before bringing it back stateside. Fotoguzzi I like yours! Nice looking bike. Checking out a couple of others as well. |

Smazman! I see you're retired now, congrats! I'll join you after May, maybe you can find another Uly and we can meet up in Arkansas some time. We talked about it before but I just couldn't pull it off. |

Tootal! Yep, I was medically retired in May 2011, worked at a couple of HD dealerships for a while and now I'm a contractor for the City of Oklahoma City. I maintain the Public Safety Radio network (Police, Fire, 9-11 dispatch, Water Dept, Public Works etc...) as a electronics tech. I dont work on hand held or in car radios, I maintain all of the equipment that allows them to communicate anywhere in the City. Dont have an office, spend most of my time in my truck or on my Victory when I can. Miss my Uly and was hoping for EBR to release one. There's some good ones out there, just have to find a real good one. Would love to have a 10 but they dont come up for sale very often. The last one posted here went quick! |
