Actually, It's all carbon fiber, but with black accents. The lighting hides the carbon quite a bit in those photos. | ||

Not exactly an EBR, but I just won another RS on Ebay  <edit> Oh yeah, taking Betty, the 1190RS, to the Colorado Mile this week. Kevin's Pop passed away last week so he's very busy at home. I have Dean Adam's pipe from Dan's RS and have started tuning by turning off the 'noid's DTCs(error codes). She'll be on the dyno tomorrow. (Message edited by zac4mac on August 31, 2015) | ||

The seat looks uncomfortable. Looks that way. Sit on one and ride it. Definitely not uncomfortable. Have done 400ish miles in a day on my rx, not uncomfortable. I'd wager that the seat is way more comfortable than any stock buell seat before it. Even my uly | ||

My buddy rides an r6. I had to get both my bikes (09 xb12scg and 1190sx)inspected so i asked if he would ride one to the dealer to get it inspected. He was scared of the 1190sx so he rode the xb. once bikes were inspected i convinced him to ride the sx. we went for like an hour ride and he fell in love with it. I guess he is now searching to find one. Hes a 22 year old kid that lives at home so i dont think he will end up getting one. | ||

I'm a new user here on this site. have been a buell owner since 2006. and one of only a few i the country i live in. i just got another one, or a EBR 2 months back, properly the most expensive one ever sold because of the tax here in Denmark. But i had to have it. I have only had time to run it in before a had to put it away for the winter. . | ||

Is the serial number the final digits of the VIN? If so, did these get reset to zero for the new 2016 LAP version of EBR? | ||

They get "reset" every year, and there were no 2016s built under the old company, so every 2016 is built under LAP. | ||

I was lucky enough to find a well known custom seat builder ~20min from my house... I opt'd for some additional cost items over their basic custom seat package... (Fine grain leather and custom embroidery) ...but the basic package includes a custom/personalized fit with new foam and a gel insert, along with a custom marine grade vinyl covering... ...a couple hundred north...basically the cost of the better leather, and custom embroidery... What a difference that custom fitted seat makes though...so comfortable, and no crotch hurt anymore... ...the extra money was (admittedly) just for aesthetics... | ||

It is absolutely beautiful and if it feels as good as it looks then it was money well spent. I'm going to wait till I get to sit on the new EBR seat before going custom, definitely need to do something with the seat though. | ||

Well...when I bought my RX, I knew the seat was not designed for sport-touring...but the SX had the same seat, with no factory option for an upgrade...(at that time)... Now that 2016 production has ramped up, and with the introduction of the Black Lightning model, a more comfortable EBR is available - and likely a better seat that would fit all three models... Still, like any mass-produced seat, it is designed for "one size fits most", so custom is the only way to go for a personalized fit, and finish... The downside is you pay for that level of attention and detail... In the end, I had my EBR seat done to both provide me with a more comfortable ride, and to issue the seat builder a challenge... If he could make the RX a comfortable bike to ride, he would earn my business for doing my Road King 2-up seat... Should be a walk in the park for him after the EBR... | ||

My 2017 1190 SX #6, one of 10 built in yellow. Has APH twin exit exhaust, IDS programmable ECM, twisted designs carbon fiber tail tidy, RX brake scoop, 50dro axle sliders, T-rex engine case sliders, Ulysses 12v power plug, and RAM mount. I also have a 44t sprocket and Rev2 throttle not yet installed.  |
