Very true. I get sick of reading headlines talking about "Buell" (the company, not the man) when it clearly should be labeled EBR. A pet peeve of sorts. |

My opinion is that this is exactly what Erik Buell, and EBR the company needed.... This guy, Bruce Belfer. I have a really good feeling about this. Everything he said in this article is spot on. "Confident? I’m the most confident mother****** you ever met in your life." That is exactly what a the LEADER of a American motorcycle company that builds bad ass American motorcycles should be. Erik Buell will go farther than ever with Bruce Belfer on his side. |

Not even sure this is the same Bruce but it seems like it. Um... I'm not blowing any whistles here but better to see this here than somewhere else I guess. Kid probably deserved it anyway. http://www.syracuse.com/state/index.ssf/2015/06/hu nter_mountain_security_guard.html http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/story/news/2015 /06/17/taste-country-security-guard-arrested-after -alleged-assault/28863507/ |

I read that story somewhere else a while back.... I think it just goes to show you, he is not just another typical CEO type... Heck, Harley's last one didn't even ride around anything other than a golf cart. |

If I was Bruce and read the stuff posted about assault charges on here I would not bother returning to this forum again and just think "f*** those guys". No one likes being reminded of shit that at the very least they regret getting caught for even if deep down they don't regret the action. Anyone I have knocked out in the past more than deserved it even if the law didn't necessarily agree. (Message edited by Sdw on September 08, 2015) |

Sdw, hopefully you did not take what I said as a negative? I don't know what happened, I wasn't there, but I look as it as positive for Erik, and the company EBR. He is obviously a upfront, and in your face kind of guy. I am tired of the bobble head CEO's /bean counters that are destroying the reputation of American brand names that once stood for something bigger than a huge profit. I am glad there will be someone that walks the walk, or at least is thinking about more than his own personal bonus or how to hustle hard working Americans out of theirs. |

"hopefully you did not take what I said as a negative? " Not at all buddy, I feel the same as you!. Having had a chat with Bruce recently which you wouldn't get to do with the owner of Honda etc, I have to say I really like the man and his no shit attitude that can sometimes get people like us into trouble as in this case. I can't help but spring to his defence as it has no bearing on him owning EBR and I'm sure he would rather forget the incident and not be reminded of it on a site dedicated to supporting his company and therefore Bruce. |

^ He's not. He already made a comment about it in a thread at ebrforum.com: "The first rule of Fight Club is nobody talks about Fight Club". |

I for one am concerned about the motorcycle business. I don't care about anyone's personal life, rumors, drama, and especially not about what the media says. Not my business. Motorcycles and parts. That's the ticket. |

Assault charge huh? I like the guy already. At least I now know the guy is willing to fight and we have something in common. |

Read up on how Henry Ford ran his business and Bruce's little incident pales in comparison. (Message edited by buelliedan on September 09, 2015) |

I don't think Bruce will mind me cross-posting this to Badweb. He posted this to Facebook this morning:
quote:Originally posted 9/11/14 ----------------------------- I was getting ready for work, listening to the radio, when I heard that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. Someone had just recently flown a small plane into (or too close to) a building so I thought it was another small plane incident. My sister was living with me at the time, and she turned on the tv to watch. We saw the second plane hit, at which time I said to myself, "this is no accident. This is an attack." When the plane hit the Pentagon, I loaded every weapon in the house and went to collect my kids. Had to wait 3 hours for the National Guard to let me get to my middle son, who was at the MAST school on Sandy Hook. Watched the towers burn and collapse from there until I could take him home. On the 12th, the call went out over the radio for cutters, demolition torches and gas, so the next morning, before dawn, my brother, one of our guys and I drove into the city over the GWB with 1500 lbs of oxygen and acetylene, 4 cutting torches and our gear, and spent the next 2 days pitching in until the unions and National Guard took over the site. I was grateful to hear that call go out on the radio. Grateful to have a skill that was needed. Grateful to have the gear. Grateful to be able to do something to help... No, I'll never forget...
I think the right kind of guy bought EBR. |

Hughlysses - I too remember exactly where and what I was doing. Active duty Navy submarines getting ready to deploy to the Mediterranean. Everyone on-board wanted to get underway early to support any type of retaliation and be a part of the new war against terrorists. Ended up being gone from home for 6 1/2 months, the whole time with an itchy trigger finger ready to blow some sh*t up. Still today wish I could have done more.... Thanks Bruce for being a part of it and lending a hand in any way.....you are a true patriot. |

Definitely a refreshing change from typical corporate America. I like the way he talks. Here's hoping he can back it up. |
