I need a belt and brakes (front and rear) for a 2008 buell 1125r. I have tried my own searches but the amount of choices is giving me a headache. If you have links I would appreciate it. (Message edited by Meteorman2 on August 08, 2015) |

Remember when looking the R belt is different than the CR. |

EBC HH pads are a modest upgrade over stock but hardly the best pad available for the 1125R. Hands down, the Dunlopad HH+ pads offer the best stopping power cold or hot, best initial bite, are easy to modulate, and are not prone to leaving deposits on rotors or eating up rotors prematurely. They're also quiet, almost dust-free, and not terribly expensive. The part number is SDP993. Here's an Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/DP-Brakes-Brake-SDP993HH-Bue ll/dp/B001P4E6QE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439868544 &sr=8-1&keywords=sdp993 The only pad compound I've come across that is comparable (if not perhaps a tiny bit better) is the Vesrah SRJL-17, and it's not available for the ZTL2. (I've tried several other Vesrah compounds and found them lacking--don't bother with the RJL or the SRJL-XX.) |

Realistically who wants to spend $80 or $250 on pads, when the EBC HH can be had for $40-$45. |

Terrys, $80 for the DP Brakes pads is wholly reasonable, in my opinion. Honestly, I'd spend $250 on them--there's literally nothing else I'd want to put on my 1125. Really, you get what you pay for. Are the DP pads twice as good as the EBC pads? Maybe not, but the improvement is significant enough for me to easily justify the price difference. I've thrown away nearly new pads just because I wasn't happy with how they felt. Snacktoast, no I haven't tried the SBS pads. You seem to think pretty highly of them--how do you describe their performance? |
