Recently, the stock clutch cable broke at the lever end and I changed it to the Barnett version from American Sport Bike. Adjustment went fine and I have no problems with the clutch. This S1 clutch is no harder to use than with my old X1. Anyway...Got some free money from work so I decided to go for the Muller Power Clutch. I have heard of the 'two-fingers' clutch legend and since I have small hands, am hoping the Muller device can give me that ease of clutch use. There is a caution with the Muller Power Clutch instructions: "You should not use After Market clutch cables or lever blades. Perfect operation of the clutch is only given when using original H-D parts." What is that all about ? I did not changed to hydraulics and I do not think the Barnett cable is THAT much different than the stock H-D cable. I searched the forum but found nothing definitive on whether I could use the Muller Power Clutch with non H-D clutch cables. Some posts seems to hint -- no problems. So here is the S1: About 28k miles, still have original clutch ramp and clutch pack, Barnett clutch cable, no fancy levers. Q: Does anyone know and/or experienced for certain that the Muller Power Clutch CANNOT be used with the Barnett clutch cable ? I used to fix F-111s and F-16s for a living so working on the bike is not an issue. I just want to avoid unnecessary work. Thnx for any advice. Roderick |

I would like to know the correct manufacturer's part numbers for the Kawasaki levers. Anyway...I installed the Muller device and after a few days I conclude that it was a good purchase. My left arm is not so well calibrated as others who said %x of decreased clutch effort so I will just say half off. Neutral was actually easier to find the before and it maybe my perception but so far it feels like the smoothest shift occurs a couple hundreds rpm lower. I still do not have that mythical 'two-fingers' clutch action. Not because of lever effort, which is far easier now, but because of disengagement. The lever have to travel all the way back in order for me to change gear, else there would be mis-shifts. Overall, am glad I got the Muller Power Clutch device. Roderick |

You just jogged my memory: you know how when you adjust the clutch you snap the lever 3X and then pull the cable away from the clutch perch and want to have about a nickel's width of free play? I was told that you have to pull the cable away GENTLY when the Muller is put in, not give it a real tug like before. Maybe that's what they were referring to about different clutch cables? |

I went hydraulic and love it.. no more ball, ramp, or stretching cable and the pull is super smooth and easy. |

Any chance I can get the complete parts list for the hydraulics ? Perhaps even installation instructions ? Roderick |
