Hi to all Buell riders! I am new to this forum and happy to be here. My concern for my Blast is that when i got the bike, it was pretty beat up from the training course at the Harley dealership, and was missing its turn signals. so naturally i bought it a new pair of LED signals. I put them on and they looked great! Until i tried testing them out and nothing happened. Went to the store and ended up getting 3 different types of flasher relays for LED's and still nothing happened. I'm really confused here and would appreciate some advice on how to fix the matter. Thanks!!

So do they turn on when you hit the switch, but not flash? That would be the flasher relay path.

But if they don't turn on, then it's a wiring issue somewhere on the bike, which can take some patience to find. Start at the fuse and make sure that' isn't blown.

If you got LED replacement signals, the polarity has to be correct also. It won't hurt to hook them up backwards, but they won't work until you hook them up right. The stock Buell signals are not LED.

They don't turn on at all. I will check the fuse and the wiring to see if I can't find the problem.

I checked and all the fuses are good. i have no idea where to even look for a wiring issue. Electricity isn't my strong point. I'm completely lost here.

Too bad you are on the wrong end of Ohio, or you could bring it by.

The wiring damage was probably caused by crash damage, those MSF bikes get dropped a LOT. So you can look for likely points where physical damage could have broken a wire.

Also, another dumb question, but have you checked the bulbs? The crashing could also have simply broken all the filaments in all four bulbs. Get some new in box bulbs and see if that changes anything.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation for the wiring issue, and it doesn't have the stock bulbs on the bike. There weren't any signals whatsoever when I got it. I'll look further into the wiring and see what I can't find.

Did you check for power at the wires with a test lamp before hooking up the LEDs? Also, you didn't say whether you checked polarity (+ and -) on the new signals-- like Reepi said, LEDs need correct polarity, whereas incandescent bulbs don't.

I did try reversing the polarities and still nothing.

Update:
I just got bulb turn signals under recommendation from my mechanic, because the LEDs weren't working. I hooked them up, and the same thing happened. Nothing. Absolutely nothing happens when i hit the switch. I found out that it does not have a wiring problem, and power is getting to the relay. I am just stuck here. Any help is appreciated.

A factory wiring diagram will be Really useful.

With a multimeter on ohms, follow the path. Switch to 12V later.

The electrical power goes from the source to the relay. From the relay to the handlebar switch. Through the switch to the left or right (as commanded by the switch) turn signals. To, then through the bulb, then on to ground.

Once you have confirmed the wiring is as it should be ( a shortcut comes to mind - put one lead on the wire from the relay to the switch, the other to ground, multimeter on ohms. You should have a ground with the handlebar switch in left or right mode) you can switch to 12V, and go through the circuit again - 12V to relay, from relay to switch, through switch to bulb, from bulb to ground.

Have you tried a known good relay? Is the ground wire to the relay plug good?

Hope this helps, Dave

Like Akbuell said check the relays...I actaully had to put some resistors on as well...here is what I found to work for me http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/770864.html?1444261903
