My little nephew cleaned my XB for me yesterday,he did a grand job apart from...I noticed afterwards lots of scrathes on the number board,front fender,airbox cover,there was proberly some git in the sponge he used,as I use my XB everyday in all types of weather.

My question is.... after trying various car waxes & polishes,the scratches/swirl marks are still visible. Does HD's Swirl & scratch treatment work (as recomened on page E-78 of the XB's handbook) ? also is Harley Glaze worth buying to restore the XB's plastics ?

I appreciate the scratches will still be there I just want to try and disguise them,as they realy show up in the daylight seeing as my bike is Black.

I just use polishing compound on my plastic. Mine is white though. I have been able to remove those scratches and swirl marks fine.

yes stoo...the hd swirl and scratch works great. had to use it on mine when it hit the ground....and it cleaned those up great

Tried Harley glaze...so so on black, but I did find a product called Plexus, that works great!
Supposed to work on visors, wind shields etc..
fills the small spiderwebbing you see in direct
sunlight.

I use the HD stuff on mine but would like to try this Plexus! Where can it be purchased at?
Auto store or bike store?

According to friend, painter, poet and artist extraordinaire JB2 the 3M stuff works even better than Plexus, which is his second choice however. Don't recall the exact 3M product, but maybe Jim will chime in here.

Thanks guys for the responces,I'll make enquirys about the "Plexus" stuff,which i've never seen here in the UK. I'm sure the 3M stuff will be more widely avalible.

plexus will be most easily available overseas from plastics suppliers, I would think, as it's peddled for plastic maintenance -- it's great stuff!. . . . available in 3 "grits," labeled, wait for it, 1, 2, and 3

the 3M stuff is findable, in the US, at auto paint supply stores . . .. . works GREAT on paint, don't see why it wouldn't do the same on plastics
